Here is the error I get from Microsoft Edge with Windows 10 16299.248 Its complaining about some file ambiguity in NEWA. No idea what it all means.

Sometimes typically after a major Windows update you may have to rerun the NextPVR installer which fixes some .NET web compiles.

Well I got to say Martin... you certainly got the right stuff! Reran the installer as you said. It gave me an error during install which I am attaching here for what its worth. But after clearing it away and clicking on the NPVR icon it started right away and played tv like always. Then I hit exit and went to the browser and connected to the localhost port and the web server worked too... but I had to be patient it took about 30 seconds to work out whatever it needed to do. During that time there was a connecting message on the tab at the top of the screen which was good as it kept me from banging on keys.

Thanks I am fixed up. Wonder how NO1453 is making out?

I did try uninstalling VirtualBox and its adapter, and rebooting, but no change in the error message. Kind of stumped myself, on the error message. (Same as in the last Nrecord log I posted the zip of). Last thing, right now I'm trying removing .net (from Windows Features) and then re-adding it. Will post back any result.

Good luck in your efforts. Having a little trouble following your notes though. You are running both Kodi and NPVR inside the same Windows 10 virtual box? Or is there some other topography here? If you are in the same virtual box or even on the same windows pc with no box I am not sure but what does a firewall have to do with this? Aren't they local to each other?

I have run both Kodi and NPVR together on one regular windows pc. After messing with the two I did decide that the ongoing Kodi quality issues (random crashes) made it overly troublesome to bother using Kodi long term for TV. When my wife turns on the TV it is expected to work everytime-all-the-time and watching TV through Kodi while very cool did not deliver that faultless appliance-like reliability. So I concluded that NPVR standing alone was a preferable solution. Less variables.

I am running both on the same Windows 10x64 machine. The VirtualBox was just a program that installed a "virtual network adapter" that seemed to be interfering, so I disabled the adapter, and eventually uninstalled it, but it didn't fix the problem in the end.
I'm not even running Kodi, though, I'm just trying to access NPVR at its local web port, with kodi installed, but not running, so no problem there.

Well, I finally got the web server to start working. I had an older version of NPVR installed (a year or more old) before I installed the current version, something about the config files must have been troublesome for it. Though I thought I had tried this before, I uninstalled, deleteled everthing in both "C:\Users\Public\NPVR" and "C:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR", reinstalled, and it was working off the bat. Now I just have to reconfigure the device and channels. Thanks everyone for the ideas.
