Hi,

2 questions:

1. Can the Movies plug-in from here be set up to group movie sets together like in Kodi? For instance, all Captain America movies would be grouped into an entry/folder labeled as Captain America Collection. Upon selecting that particular collection, then the individual movies would be displayed.

2. Can the order of the plug-ins be rearranged? Since adding the Movies plug-in, it is displayed at the bottom of the list like this:
TV Guide
Recordings
Live TV
Search
Videos
DVD
Exit
Movies

I would like to have the Exit button be at the bottom of the list, if possible.

Thanks!

You can edit config.xml to change the menu order ... http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...ced#toc147

config.xml is in the data folder ... usually c:\Users\Public\NPVR

If each group is in it's own folder, then the answer is definitely Yes - I use 3 folders at the moment 1080p, 720p and Chinese, each has its own entry and fanart in the Movies Menu.

I really need to start splitting them by genre, but with about 5Tb in the1080p folder where do I start

What does that exactly mean? I currently have in separate folders:

Captain America The First Avenger>Captain America The First Avenger.m4
Captain America The Winter Soldier>Captain America The Winter Soldier.mp4
Captain America Civil War>Captain America Civil War.mp4

Do I make one "master" folder labeled Captain America, then move the other folders into Captain America?

No I don't believe that will work - Movies plugin will only work on one level of the directories specified in the [General] Tab, it is not recursive - so you could put all the Captain America movies in one folder and have that folder as a directory in Movies Plugin [General] and also set the folder up as a Category.

Lao Pan,

Thanks for taking the time to respond. But I am either not fully understanding and/or just doing it wrong. I create a folder "Captain America Collection" and place all the video files in it. I then set it as a directory in the Movies General plugin tab. I also create a Category in the category tab labeled "Captain America Collection". I then rebuild the xml. From there it doesn't work as expected. In NPVR I select the Movie tab but it brings me to the category view of Captain America Collection with 2 selections" Captain America Collection and Menu. No matter which I choose it brings me back to the main movie menu with the rest of my movie library.

Attached are screenshots from Kodi that show what I would like to see in NPVR...if it's possible. I'm guessing my request is beyond the scope of the movies plugin, but you said it was possible. So I'm just looking for clarification.

Thanks again!

One last attempt to explain - it is 6 years since I last set it up, and still works fine for me.

First you need your films for the category in a separate folder that is not in any other Movies Folder along with their nfo, posters and fanart etc. (I use Media Companion to produce these - requires legacy kodi format)

Then you need to create the Category in the second Tab, making sure you put the full path to the Category Folder in the bottom box, (Maybe this is where you went wrong - it's not very obvious) Then update the xml on the first tab.

The when you go to Movies Plugin you should have a Horizontal Category Menu (It is always Horizontal)

Which when you click on the Category should take you to the Category (I normally use the Horizontal sort, but this is what you get with the vertical)

@Lao Pan
Thanks for the detailed instructions. When I get a chance (maybe this weekend) I'll try again. However, my OCD is wearing off on this subject so I may just leave well enough alone.
