In preparation for cutting the cord, I created a sand-box system to see what and how NPVR works with OTA channels. I tried to use one of my Ceton 4 tuner cards, but that didn't get very far, so I'm trying an old KWorld UB455 I had in my junk box. Just about everything I tried works, except the TV guide. My question is: Should Schedules Direct be used to populate the guide for OTA channels, or should I try something else?

Here's what I get when I specify Schedules Direct....

System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'Newtonsoft.Json, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=30ad4fe6b2a6aeed' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)

at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)

If it "should" work, then I'll repeat my test and submit the ZIP of the logs.

I'm pretty sure you can't use a Ceton device for OTA channels. You should be able to use the Kworld device though.

For that Schedules Direct error, it looks like you've got an old version of Newtonsoft.Json.dll. If you do a search in the C:\Users\Public\NPVR\ directory, do you find this file? If so, what date/time is it?

Thanks, Sub, for the quick response.

That file exists in three places:

\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Temporary ASP.NET\......
Dated 3/29/2018 size 484kb

\Users\Public\NPVR\web\BIN Dated 10/218/2014 size 484kb

\Program Files (x86)\NPVR dated 4/24/2014 size 479kb

Are you running the current NextPVR release? ie 4.1.0? If not, upgrade. If you are, then delete those old 2014 files and rerun the installer.

If you're running the current release, it should be like a 2017 date in c:\Users\Public\NPVR\web\BIN and c:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR

Spot-on as usual.

I just reinstalled the code, and everything works well now.

It seems that the problem came about due to how I did the install originally. I had downloaded the 4.1 setup file, on my "normal" machine, and installed it without a hitch on that machine. But, I used the same setup file to install to a new machine (from the same folder on the "normal" machine). That gave me some issues with security, which ultimately caused the issue.

Everything is copacetic now. Thanks again, Sub.
