Play Store reinstall

Is there a way to download an APK from Google Play, as opposed to doing an install?
I couldn't seem to figure it out.
I have several different Android boxes that I swap in and out, sometimes completely erasing the ROMs and I don't think Google Play will let me re-install the app.

As long as you're using the same google account, you'll be able to down and install the app from the Play store, without having to repurchase it.

I thought when I did this with other apps in the past, the "install" bar was grayed out?
I'll give it another try.

OK, so I installed the app on my TV box.
Did a very quick test (will have many questions later), then deleted the app from my device.
When I went back to the Play Store, it appeared as though it was going to charge me $6.99 to install it again.
I went no further.

I just checked my email; I had 2 messages from Google.
The first one indicated they charged me the $6.99, the second one was for a refund?
I never hit the refund key in Google.
Not sure what's happening.

I don't have a lot of experience with day to day use of Android (since I mainly use Apple devices), but Google are definitely saying you can reinstall apps as long as you're using the same Google account:

Use apk extractor from the play store, to get apk for nextpvr. it can be found here :

https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai...com.ext.ui

This will allow you to save apk, so you can use it after erasing rom.

If you uninstall within a certain period of time, Play Store will give you a refund. I'm not sure what the time limit is on that right now.

I've also noticed it is set to be sharable with the "Family Library" if you have that setup in Play Store. Apps you buy are sharable with others for free within your family library. For example, my wife and I used 2 different accounts for Google. I purchased NEXTpvr and shared it with the Library so she can use it also on her Android with her own Google account.
