I am new to this soft. and only use it to record 1 ch, Sky Arte from Italy.

When I try to watch or record some programme it says ''UNABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH RECORDING SERVICE''.
Also on task bar the NextPVR icon in BLACK has always RESTART RECORDING SERVICE.
This means that for every recording have to go there I put in RED to start recording , no meaning then for schedule recordings ???

Log attached.

appreciate expert help

greetings from Lisbon-Portugal

In your each of the three last recording service logs, it looks like the recording service has been shutdown manually, rather than just stopped by itself. Just to be clear, the recording service needs to be running for things to function.
Quote:2018-05-15 13:14:11.120 [DEBUG][5] OnStop()
2018-05-15 13:14:11.120 [DEBUG][5] About to stop webserver
2018-05-15 13:14:11.320 [DEBUG][5] webserver stopped
2018-05-15 13:14:11.320 [DEBUG][5] About to stop recording service
2018-05-15 13:14:11.320 [INFO][5] RecordingService.Shutdown()
2018-05-15 13:14:11.635 [DEBUG][5] recording service stopped
2018-05-15 13:14:11.635 [DEBUG][5] OnStop() complete...

I did note a few of these errors being returned from your IPTV provider:
Quote:2018-05-15 13:54:00.413 [ERROR][64] System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (520) Origin Error.

thanks you for reply , one point cannot understand is why when we click on tray icon it 'always' shows ' Restart recording service ' , if such service is always running on background it should change to ' stop it ' and only when is not running it should say ' restart ' , your kind comments ?

I don't know if it's a language thing that makes you find this strange? You're the first person to ever ask about it

The context menu on the tray icon just provides easy access to a selection of different functions. The "restart recording service" feature will stop and restart it. It's not telling you the recording service is stopped and you need to use this option to start it.

Thank you for explanation, so whenever I want to start a recording I must click such feature-option and see icon becomes RED, right?
Just made a recording for one hour programme , icon stayed RED from start to end but when I went to see recording file it has just one minute...what could be wrong?

You shouldn't need to do anything with the tray icon. It's just there as a visual indication if the system is recording or not. In normal operation, you'd just ignore it, and never touch it.

You can ignore the tray icon, it's nothing to do with your problem. It was red for an hour, because that's how long NextPVR was trying to record. If you recording ended up shorter than that, it was probably something like your IPTV connection went down or something. If your IPTV provider gives you the option to use m3u8 or hls streams, you may find these are better a recovering from errors (because it's not a long lived connection, but rather thousands small downloads). Most IPTV providers give you the option of TS or M3U8.

What was the name / time of the recording that stopped early? I'll check if anything stands out in the log.

Noted, will not touch it and just use the Newa web site to set recordings, is it ok ?

I use an M3U url to get channel and another URL to get EPG.

I can see it tried to record from 20:13:00 to 21:02:00. From these specific logs, I can't tell if the connection disappeared part way through, but I suspect it did. If it's an on-going problem, there is a lower level of logging that can be turned on to monitor the status of the IPTV connection, and data transferred from it. It's probably worth try m3u8 streams before that though, if your IPTV provider gives these as an option.
