NextPVR recording issue

I had set a show to record live tv on CBS (KGAN, 9:57pm-10:03pm), I turned on the live tv feed of the show (and eventually tried to go into video > files, to watch the show), nextpvr status showed t the show appeared to continue recording, but unfortunately only a 1 minute 45 seconds recorded. I was not sure if this was a one time glitch or something else.

Basically someone, or something put the machine to sleep soon after the recording started. NextPVR has no code to put a machine to sleep, so it wasn't NextPVR. ie, someone probably manually put the machine to sleep, or you've set your machine to go to automatically go to sleep when inactive (and it's a bit over zealous)

I just had a recording fail of the voice S15E12, I was also recording another channel at the same time and it record with no issues. Nothing in the logs to indicate why it failed, video says its 16 minutes long but the video play only plays till 7:38.

How do you define fail? What does the timeline in NextPVR show as the lenght of the recording,? What about Kodi?

It failed because it doesn't play past 7ish minutes, the recording says its 16 minutes long in VLC/Kodi and its about 1GB in size vs the rest that are 8GB or 16GB. NextPVR still said it was recording when I checked about 45 mins into the show, but the file had not updated for 30 minutes.

When i checked the turners in HDHomeRun it showed 2 in use, but only 1 had an IP. Going to the channel in the mobile app and backing out released the tuner, so not exactly sure what happened.

According to the logs, it recorded for the whole hour (plus a minute padding each side).

Assuming you didn't run out of disk space - then it would have recorded everything that came from the device. I'm wondering if some other software tried to use the tuner, causing it to stop delivery of data to NextPVR? (or maybe you've got a flakey tuner that reboots?

We're not seeing any other reports of this, and we've got heaps of users using HDHomeRun devices, so it's unlikely to be a NextPVR bug. If you're sure it's a bug, and can reproduce the problem regularly, you'll probably need to monitor the device status in the HDHomeRun web app, and check the stream target, and data rate etc.

I had turned on my television, and started the live tv after the recording had started, and it appeared the recording stopped at this point, thank you for checking. Everything was good last night recording and watching through Kodi (videos > files).

One other thing to consider is you should not configure the bda source as NextPVR it doesn't send the correct stream. Select default or mediaportal. This. Is a silicon dust error.

I might be a slow on the uptake today, but is the BDA source on the device set up page?
