Hi Sub,

I have a problem with scheduled recordings where the channel EPG changes and the show is no longer planned -- but the recording still is done taking up a tuner/time/space on the drive. Is there any logic to double-check that a scheduled recording is still in the EPG table?

From Scheduled_Recordings:

"1104" "1104" "Jorinde und Joringel" "" "0" "2019-02-01 13:00:00" "2019-02-01 14:00:00" "23" "7373" "0" "rbb Berlin HD" "<Event>

<SubTitle></SubTitle>

" "" "30" "30" "3"

From EPG_Event

"1251840" "1251840" "Kesslers Expedition" "Unterwegs auf der Schiene: Vom Bodensee über Köln bis nach Amsterdam" "Diesmal geht die Reise vom Bodensee über Köln bis nach Amsterdam. In Konstanz bieten sich dem flüchtigen Kessler neue Karrieremöglichkeiten. Eine Laienspielgruppe stellt ihm eine Rolle in einem Stück in Aussicht, wenn er es durch das Casting schafft." "2019-02-01 13:00:00" "2019-02-01 13:45:00" "7373" "EP015689890052" "" "2013-06-14 00:00:00" "7" "3" "0" "65535" "Travel;Documentary" "N" "HDTV" "" "stereo" "" "Host:Michael Kessler" "" "YxGxYpTJ+aeIHzQh50gzuA" ""

Hmm -- the event numbers in scheduled -- some are not on the EPG list anymore -- like they were stuck from some corrupted DB data. Is there a *safe* way to delete the EPG and planned recordings, and restart the process without losing all of my lineups?

Thanks,
Dane

Cheap Medion Minitower, but it's quiet enough
- Windows 11x64
- Digital Devices DVB-C PCIe (1x Cine quad and 1x Cine dual)
- LG C2 with Jellyfin front end, NPVR back end
- 30TB storage, ~7,500 films

Backup the existing npvr.db3 database ... NextPVR Settings --> Recordings ... Export Recordings ... Stop the Recording Service ... Rename npvr.db3 ... Start NextPVR and it will automatically create a new empty database ... Stop NextPVR and reboot to restart everything ... Setup devices and scan for channels ... Import the recordings file created earlier.

At NextPVR Settings ---> Devices you can Export and Import channels if channel scanning and setup is a lot of work.

You can replace the newly created database with the backup of the old database if this all makes a mess.

Thanks Graham - my main problem is the EPG linkage between the physical DVB-C channels (after weeding out the radio and SD duplicates) and my EPG subscriptions on SchedulesDirect - the mapping facilities from Sub are good if you do this once in a lifetime, but painful if you have channel lineup changes or need to reinstall -- this is for me avoid-like-plague material.

I am wondering if I can zero the EPG, stop the server, and then delete the pending recordings in SQL Browser -- I will miss maybe one day of planned work, unless I can find a way to force the scheduling logic to run again once the DB is re-populated. Would probably be cleaner to zero the counters for EPG_EVENT and SCHEDULED_RECORDING as well, plus delete the "recording-backup" XML stored outboard by the web GUI as the event IDs offboard in XML will no longer line up.

The EPG source for each Channel should be maintained if you Export and then Import channels at NextPVR Settings --> Devices.

Just smacking my head with a fence pole -- you are 100% right -- I had a recollection that the export needed to be re-mapped once imported!

Then I just may be off to doing to cleaning today...thanks!
