About two weeks ago, I had to change my HDHomeRun Prime device. My original suffered an untimely premature death.

Originally, recordings worked just fine, but all last week, only two shows recorded where the majority failed with the following error:

Quote:***No Errors, but no data delivered. This is usually because the device failed to lock a signal

I can watch live TV just fine, but the recordings are not working. I poked around in the settings and didn't see anything obvious. I searched the error on this site and found a few others who had reported this in the past. One was firewall related another was drive space related. Neither of which would cause this error for me. If it were firewall, or drive space related, then all recordings would fail, not just a majority of recordings.

The last time there were any recordings was February 7th. I attached the logs.

I scheduled a new recording for today, but I'm not at the location and can't monitor it. I'll have to go the next day to see if it failed or succeeded. But hopefully you can spot something in the attached logs.

Thanks

What's the name and time of a recording that failed?

I don't have that information in front of me, and can't get it at the moment, however, if you tell me which log to look at, I might be able to determine which file failed and a time.

Since recordings to your D Drive regularly failed I'd check that the drive is ok.

Daryl

I just remembered one off the top of my head. The program would have been "The Curse of Oak Island" and the most recent recording should have been February 9th at about 8:50 pm. Otherwise the most recent recording for that program would have been on February 5th at 8:00 pm.

Another failed program is "I am the Night". I'm not sure of the date or time(s) off the top of my head. And another failed program is "Modern Marvels". That program runs multiples times a week at different times.

There no obvious sign of any problems with "The Curse of Oak Island", but as the error message says, it sounds like the device has delivered no data. You'd probably need to catch it which it's having one of these problems, and look at the HDHomeRun settings web page, to see what it's saying about the copy protection, signal lock and data rate etc.

You might also want to check if it's certain channels that always have a problem. ie, you might find those channels are now copy protected (even if they weren't in the past).

I just checked two recordings from last night, both recorded as I hoped they would. There is a show scheduled for tonight and another scheduled for tomorrow evening. Both of those failed last week, Oak Island and "I am the Night". I'll check with them to see if they recorded or not after they were scheduled to run.

One change that I made was to disable the firewall on the machine, not that it should really be the issue. If it were the firewall, then it wouldn't be intermittent, but I decided to see if ALL of my recordings would work. If they do, then I'll re-enable to firewall and watch the scheduled recordings again.

It'll be difficult for me to watch a recording for failure, as I am not at the residence. I may have to make sometime to go there and schedule something, wait and watch, but that may not be for a few days. If I can't figure out what is going on without doing that, then that's what I'll do. But it would be helpful if I knew which log file to look at then I can review log files.

Thanks

The recordings are logged in nrecord.log, but as mentioned these show no sign of any problem in the logs, other than the device delivering no data.

Okay. I just had the opportunity to check the most recent recordings, which failed. The program in question is "I am the Night".

I forget about the web page, so I checked it this time and there were two errors. One said that the recording service was not running. The second was the same error that I posted previously, "No Errors, but no data delivered. This is usually because the device failed to lock a signal."

I've attached the latest logs.

Thank you

I just checked the most recent recordings via the webpage.

Again, I get see,
Quote:Recording service not running at recording time
, but recording services are running now.

Any suggestions? I'm guessing there wasn't anything to report in the logs that I uploaded yesterday.

Thanks

Daryl
