EPG update crashing the program?

The only way I could get out of Kodi was by a hard reboot of the PC. Ctrl-Alt-Delete did nothing. When I restarted Kodi a few minutes ago, it loaded with no problem and does indeed reflect the incomplete EPG data held by NPVR. I know for sure that Kodi's previous EPG data for that channel between 1930-2200 4 April was correct, so clearly NPVR's had been at some point and then went awry. I'm set up to post the old Kodi log along with the new so can upload them if you want but, again, I'm wary of where I'm supposed to be doing things - getting very muddled with the etiquette.

I think until sub is able to stop the EPG update from crashing things are going to be unstable. Just run it once a day overnight and then restart the service at the beginning of the day and carry on with incomplete guide data. I'd leave this thread for EPG update problems and continue to use your open Kodi thread for playback problems. Kodi and NextPVR won't know the EPG failed, it just will be have partial data.

If you hit the 'Update EPG' button, does it crash or hang on the same frequency each time? If so, then I might need to get you to capture a 1 minute full transport stream from that frequency (using TSCapture from https://tscapture.com). This way I can try faking your EPG update here and see what happens.

I will try to keep an eye on this, sub. I've just done a manual update that appears to have scanned the lot without an issue. Assuming that the scan always tackles the frequencies in the same order, the crash is unlikely to be on the same frequency because I've seen it tick over to other frequencies but on one occasion definitely fail on the first one it attempted.

Just done a manual update and it did not crash - scanned 754, 698, 762, 602, 746 and 554 in that order. However, there are "holes" in the EPG, eg: channel 3 9th April 1030-1330 and channel 14 10th April 0400-0700. Both three hour slots, neither were empty for those periods yesterday. I've not traversed the full seven days or 100+ channels - those are just examples from the top part of the EPG.

If you got some gaps, you might need to increase the time per frequency on Settings->Misc2->'Advanced EPG Settings' screen.
