Without debug Kodi logs there is not much point to posts like this.

Hi there
Same thing is happening to me. Issues started happening after I updated from Windows 10 build 1709 to 1809. Prior to that OK. This issue is happening for me with version 4_2_4_190307 . Crash happens upon rewind of live TV in KODI (logs here https://pastebin.com/crW1rMC2) but also in the Next PVR app as well. Also worth noting that during scan of channels, the nextpvr app crashed . I downgraded to 4_2_3_181112 . Scan of channels OK. In this build, Nextpvr app rewinds and fast forwards live TV no problem, but in KODI, it crashes immediately when rewind is hit. Separate log of crash with this build is here: https://pastebin.com/TSJhbNCX I am running Leia , latest build 18.2 Hope this helps. Thanks

I am seeing the same thing too, you didn't post the Kodi debug log required to debug Kodi problems.
Also you should be posting all the NextPVR logs and there was no crash in the logs you posted NextPVR exited cleanly. Martin

Hi - I ran KODI in debug mode , but can't find the log files specifically for KODI. Have searched on web. I haven't got a KODI AppData folder, I installed KODI from the Microsoft Store.
I have attached the full NPVR log file in the attached zip however. Does this help? thanks again for taking a look

For the MS Store version, the Kodi userdata folder (where that log is stored) is at:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\XBMCFoundation.Kodi_4n2hpmxwrvr6p\LocalCache\Roaming\Kodi\ %LOCALAPPDATA% on my Windows machine resolves to C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData. AppData might be hidden, so once you're in your user directory in the VIEW menu check the option for HIDDEN ITEMS.

The easiest solution for Kodi logs is to install the official Kodi log uploader and just paste the url from it.
The server side definitely shows the symptoms of the timeshift bug 2019-05-07 22:10:33.499 [DEBUG][56] Checking for close notifications for sid: default 2019-05-07 22:10:33.499 [DEBUG][56] Renewed lease. I have not seem any recent posts from the author of v18 timeshift for quite a while. If you don't need timeshift use real time otherwise maybe try extended timeshift to see if it works for you. hi again
Thanks for looking into this. I installed the KODI log viewer, but couldn't find a way to copy and paste the text. Ctl+C doesn't work. I think I found where the log is . I ran debug mode. Hopefully it is now here: https://pastebin.com/LvYtbB7r Thanks again

That is the log, (the log uploader is better it gives the pastebin URL) but it just showed you getting the current log and not duplicating the problem. You need to either capture the error in the current or "old" log for us to look at.

Hi Martin
To update you. I re-installed the latest Next PVR, selected Extended Timeshift and I can now re-wind and fast forward without crashes. There were some additional problems I have not encountered before however. After 2 seconds, the screen flickers v.quickly then there are artefacts and pixelization on the screen. I increased the buffer in the add on settings to 10 seconds and this seemed to work. It was still having the same issues on the HD channels, so upped it to the max. It still pixelated. I turned off then on again and right now seems OK. One thing I have wondered, during the re-set /upgrade of Windows version, I also lost VLC player. Am wondering if that installs codecs Next PVR/Kodi needs? Thanks! |
