I can't see anything obvious there - it looks like it's going through the motions, and no errors listed.
To get lower level info on what's happening, you could create a c:\temp directory, and try setting HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\NPVR\ LogTSFlow=1 (DWORD), then update the EPG, then supply the c:\temp\mon.txt file.
Remember to remove that registry setting afterwards, since it produces so much logging that it can cause issues.

there we go funnily enough i downloaded epg collector and that pulls the epg from 11428H quite happily
It looks like it's not receiving any data from the device.
You'd probably need to check the triax web app, to see what it's saying about frequency / signal lock etc, when attempting the EPG update in NextPVR vs EPG Collector - hopefully that'll give us some clues.
