Using Win10Pro, 32gbRAM, H170 MB, I5 Skylake quad core, 4TB HD dedicated to recording ATSC recordings using Hauppauge 1609 quad card tuner. Have used this process and NextPVR past 2-3 years without issue until now. Set up iZombie recording same as everything else. Log file shows recording starting and finishing normally, but there is no data in the file.

Post the logs and let us know what the recording was and we'll take a look what happened.

It sounds like you device never locked onto a signal, so didn't deliver any data to NextPVR. You market hasn't been moving channels around, requiring a retune? I seem to remember something about Phoenix recently starting some ATSC 3.0 trial broadcasts.

Thanks! Will try a re-tune. DIdn't think of it as all other channels record fine. Will check into ATSC 3.0 with Hauppauge. As an update, nothing broadcast on The CW in Phoenix records, not just iZombie.

Yeah it looks like there has been no errors, but the device hasn't locked onto a signal.

Does live tv or any recordings work on that specific channel? If no, delete the channel and try rescanning.

Hey Admin! I sure appreciate you taking the time to review this stuff! Thanks!

Latest update ...

to answer your question first ... live tv works great on The CW channel 61.1 using WinTV8.5 or my tv tuner. TV says my signal quality is '56.'

1.) Installed latest version of WinTV8.5 (May 2, 2019 version).
2.) Re-scanned all channels on 6 tuner channels (2250=2 channels, and 1609=4 channels)
3.) Rebooted

Test results ... no change. The CW channel 61.1 opens and closes a file normally but there is no data. All other channels record and have data.

Is this a NextPVR software issue? What do you need from me? Is anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks,

Jeff

To be honest, I don't know what the issue is. There is no sign of any problem in that log snippet above.

Did you try deleting The CW, then rescanning to re-add the channel?

You could try installing the Hauppauge Signal Monitor utility, and see what it says while trying to record from that channel.

Installed Signal Monitor. Monitored several channels. All channels showed SNR in the red zone, but all channels record properly except 61.1. Yep, deleted everything and re-scanned when I installed the updated WinTV8.5 software. I have 2 signal boosters on the 75 ohm line because of distance, but I don't think that this is the problem. Will call the CW offices and see what I can discover ...

Hi Admin, Quick update. The CW local offices are looking into it even though they told me that no changes have been made. So then I tested a different way ... I used WinTV8.5 to do a Live Recording by touching the 'record' button. I got a proper start and finish, just like with NexPVR, but I also got data. I do have to manually start the recording and stop it. So... it would appear that the problem is in NextPVR somewhere ... Next test ... set WinTV8.5 up to record (instead of NextPVR) and see what happens.

If want to use the evaluation version of tscapture, from http://tscapture.com, to record a 1 minute "full ts" while izombie is on, and put the file somewhere like dropbox or onedrive, and let me know the download link, I'll check if there is anything about the stream that NextPVR doesn't like.
