When we do a clean install of Windows and NextPVR we only need to copy the database and config file to get up and running again. Will it be possible to do this when we are ready to stop using V4 and go over to using V5?

Chris

I went from 4 to 5 just doing that and no problems - but if you have been creating script files don't forget those as well.

The database and config are largely the same, and compatible. There is a few extra tables that will get created when you use the database with v5.

Ideally I'd recommend a clean install if possible, but it should be ok to copy these files into your new v5 setup and go from there.

I have tried importing the recording-backup.xml from v4 but don't appear to be getting anything imported.
It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh

Sorry - another user pointed out the 'import' wasn't working for them. I've got it on my list to check and fix.

No problem - what fun would a Beta be without a few problems to fix Wink

Just installed 5.0.0.190629 Still unable to import a v4 recordings-backup xml - clean set of logs for the attempt attached.

Also on every start of NPVR I get an "Unexpected error in service locator thread:" Line 111 in the log - does this need attention?

Sorry - I haven't looked at it yet. I'd been busy with other stuff.

It's still on the scribbled list next to my keyboard. I should get to it in the next couple of days.

You will get this error if you're running NextPVR v4 and v5 on the same machine. You can just ignore it though.

This is fixed for the next build. It'll let you import either a recordings-backup.xml, recurring-backup.xml, or a zip file containing these (which is what you get from the Export Recordings function)
