That feature should be there - it now has Logger.EnableLogging() and Logger.DisabeLogging() methods.

Ok great, when I was looking earlier today it wasn't there but I forgot I only updated the linux arm and docker builds. I rarely use v5 on Windows.

Thanks to sub's new API call post #1 now includes an update to make the logging in NextEnd work like v4. Without this change NextPVR logs would roll on non sporting events. I have also updated post 1 with instructions how to install without dotnet netcore 2.2

Hi Martin,

I uninstalled all the .NET Core runtimes and installed NextEnd per instructions in B. No errors showed when v5 started and I saw the nextend-monitor.log was created. Looks OK.

I'm curious though, what is the "Plugins\NextEnd" folder is used for now? There is nothing in it (at least that explorer shows). NextEnd must need it for something because v5 shows errors when that folder is missing.

Thanks, Rex

I store the relative end time of sporting events there using their SD unique ID. This amount would be how much gets added to shows that follow.

Thanks! I have a MLB game scheduled tonight so we'll see how it goes.

Last time I tried it (with.NET Core installed) NextEnd log showed the MLB game was extended and stopped when the game was over but I ended up with a 0 length recording. The log said something about the tuner not being available. I also was recording the same event with v4 using a manual 1 hour manual post-padding so maybe there was a conflict. I was also watching it live.

This time only v5 will be recording the game.

Ok thanks for testing. Another thing you can do is add a --cancel option and if it finishes early it will stop recording early.

Martin,

I'm finally getting around to installing the NextEnd v5 trial. So far, a couple of suggestions:
1. In your installation post, maybe include a link to download and installed the .NET Core runtime files. Here's what I used: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/th...-installer
2. Maybe address the question of why you would or would not want to install it?

OK. I'm also confused about which directory to use for the "Unzip attached zip file into a folder Plugins/NextEnd in the v5 user data folder." It may be because I've been testing since the early days of v5 and sub's moved the default location of the Data directory.

I've got a "data" folder in my C:\Program Files\NextPVRv5 folder as well as the C:\Users\Public\NextPVR-data folder. And neither of them have a "Plugins" folder. Which is fine--I can create it. I'm pretty sure that for my install, NextPVR is using the C:\Users\Public\NextPVR-data folder since that's where my scripts that are being run are located. So I'm thinking that I should put it there?
