Hi, when I upgraded to the latest version 4.2.4 I found that the television now had a lot of block effects occurring. I have windows 10 and an AVERMedia dual DVB-T card. Now I know the first answer will be that the television signal is poor going into the AVERMedia dual dvb-t card but my Sony Bravia television in my lounge room is working normally. And yes, I've checked the cable to the antenna and nothing has changed. Is there a way to tweak NextPVR so that the signal - live-TV dropouts decrease? The dropouts are just bad enough now for this to be very distracting and causing me to search for a solution.

It is widely reported that the tuners in computer tuners are less sensitive than the tuners in TVs ... Are you able to do tests of the Avermedia by temporarily removing the splitter and removing all (or most) aerial extension cables. The aerial signal is very weak and some cables are better than others so try swapping cables about. Plus, are you using a passive splitter or an aerial amplifier?

Your NPVR logs may show what NPVR thinks the signal strength & quality look like when performing a tuning request.
I second Graham's comment too that TV tuners often have better internal amplifiers than tuners intended for PC use so handle poor signal better.
Passive Cable splitters are notorious for dropping signal strength.

I've reinstalled windows 10 and in the process found I have a mygica T1800B dual DVB-T. I found 2012 drivers and installed them. The signal is touch and go now so I think something must have happened to the antenna or a cable (probably cockatoos!). It appears Australia is moving to DVB-T2 soon so I'll probably source a windows 10 compatible DVB-T2 card at some point soon.
