4.0.4, occasionally will when you click on a show and select play, will refuse to play, just get a black screen, back out and click and play again, and it's a crapshoot if it works or not. Also, the "skip" ahead or back (seeking) on a show where the signal went south (at the beginning, middle, anywhere really) can cause the comskip to record properly, but the player itself will refuse to skip ahead or back, the instant you try manually, it starts at the beginning of the stream. It also cannot play through bad signal loss files (had one today of The Orville, wouldn't play through it, but Windows Media Player will).

Not sure what to say, but anyone with satellite, cable, ota, with a signal failure part way through the show, will not be able to play it and if they on the mere luck can play it, you can't skip through it forward or backward, (comskip can't do it either).

Still seeing that 2 second video frame lag on all skips (including automatic commercial skip), the audio works though.

GuruSR.

P.S. Any chances of moving the "settings" to an actual menu item and out of that super tiny window that will most likely look like a small box on 4k?

If you tick the 'use legacy TS Reader and demux' on the Settings->Decoder screen, does this problem go away?

If you've got a sample file with bad signal loss, which you can supply, I'll see if I can improve things.

Tried that, it went away, but skipping ahead or back lagged like crazy and 30-ish mins into the second show (2 1hr shows), it froze NPVR, so I turned that back off.
*IF* I delete a show and then try to watch one right after, it black screens 100%. This machine is an I5 quad core with a SSD for recording, so it's not those.

I do, *FINALLY* (Google Drive's Sync and Backup software is... pathetic) after a few days of trying, I finally used the web version of Google Drive and was able to upload the file without it doing stupid things like "Cannot connect!" or randomly starting from 0% again... router's been connected for almost 2 months, thats not the issue, it's Google and their "special" coding practices. At least a good resume would have been wise, but anyhow, I've got 3.

The Orville (60mins): https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzSUGv...GJTQ2M2eUk
Lethal Weapon (60mins): https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzSUGv...TdOZ0NvT3M
Master Chef (120mins): https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzSUGv...zgxdDZQREk

The Orville looks to be about half the length, due to it's size (~2GB), Lethal Weapon appears to be about 8 mins long with it's less than 1GB size and Master Chef's 2 hour looks to be minus 15-20 minutes at it's ~9.1GB size. Normal shows in HD are roughly 7G/hr.

One request, please possibly add the size of the recording in the information, my Panasonic DVR does this, so I know when a show comes in with a less than normal size for that duration, that stuff was missed.

I've only tried The Orville. It's reporting a garbage time line, but kind of still managing to play for me in NextPVR, albeit with all sorts of garbage. It's crashing VLC, and wont play in Media Player for me.

I will see if I can improve the skipping, but ultimately all bets are off when you've got rubbish signal with lots of loss, and you should focus on trying to get a better signal.

Odd, playing The Orville file right now with MPC-HC and it's not crashing or anything, it is actually going through the stream 100% fine. Sounds like your machine isn't using SAF codec's, as I've dumped everything but them. As for getting a better signal, was rather shocked that even happened, Fox rarely comes in crap, it's one of the strongest ones I get. The Master Chef is probably the best one to work on, it actually shows mostly up, with chops here and there and everything I have will play these streams without crashing (NPVR will as well, as long as I leave it go without touching FF or RW on the remote).

Also, my asking for putting the file size of the recording in the info, will give me a better idea of whether or not the recording got trashed. It's very rare that it happens, though I think one of my distribution amps may be going south (it's 6 years old, so it's possible).

No, I don't use SAF. I use fairly standard stuff like LAV.

Ouch - 9GB. It's probably a bit too big for me to download for this testing.

Ah, well, the SAF has a LAV in it, seemed to be the best option (no more mega codec, that SAF practically does the whole set without the bulk).

Well, it is the best one to look at it's playable throughout just no skipping, I wasn't about to cut the file into pieces, because then you wouldn't have access to the raw footage. I didn't think 9gb was large with today's high speed unlimited internet services out there, guess NZ hasn't got that yet?

Just a note (I will see if there is an update to ComSkip), but ComSkip seemed to "finish" a perfectly good recording at around 44mins, seen it do this once before, the show plays totally fine but won't go past the end of the ComSkip if I try to skip, but it *will* play normally.

Also, NCIS last Tuesday, recorded 100% fine, except one "weird" thing, no glitches, no visual, no audio, but... it did start "fast forward" all by itself when it got to one spot in the show. If I returned to that spot, it'd repeat it, like someone at the studio accidentally hit a jog wheel while doing something and caused it to zip ahead (whole hour show was over in roughly a minute). Show had nothing wrong with it, just that whatever it was in the stream that said "fast forward", as soon as I skipped past that, the rest of the show was 100% fine, totally bizarre.
