Hi,

When i installed NextPVR for the first time, i enabled the option to "Use S01E01 file naming format is possible".

It didn't work well because i had mistake (bad episode numbers if i remember).

So, because it doesnt' seems very important for me, i disabled this option by unchecking it in settings :

But, some of my new recording always have a bad naming with S0xE0x format :

[ATTACH=CONFIG]47505[/ATTACH]

This is how on of these programs look like in EPG :

Does it mean the setting hasn't be saved ?

Thanks

The setting only applies to filenames and has nothing to do with metadata or how it is displayed

You're right. I thought it was file name but no :

[ATTACH=CONFIG]47506[/ATTACH]

So where these episodes "bad" naming comes from ? (in EPG there isn't "S14E01")

I can see these namings in NextPVR too :

Is it related to these NextPVR settings ? (it is only for artwork, isn't it ?) :

Many people, me included think the season episode number is important to know the order to watch shows in. The information comes from the xmltv or schedules direct import. The fields that are being supplied could be wrong but sometime based on user requests sub has modified the import to extract this information from the description or subtitle. You'd have to supply your xmltv file to know for sure.

Martin.

What is your EPG source? From the DVB broadcast stream or XMLTV or Schedules Direct?

Reading the info above, it seems likely you're using XMLTV, and it's got incorrect season/episode data in it.

If season/episode data is available, NextPVR and Kodi tend to show it, because most people find it useful.

The file contains season and episode info in xmltv format for some shows, for example ...

Quote: <episode-num system="xmltv_ns">11.16.</episode-num>

NextPVR uses season and episode info in xmltv format to construct filenames.

Other shows have season and episode information as text in the <desc> value or in the <subtitle> value.

NextPVR does not use season and episode info in <desc> and <subtitle>. These values are displayed in the Guide as part of the subtitle or as part of the description.

I think there are some conditions were NextPVR will extract from the metadata too. Can you highlight a show that is wrong. I know you mentionned L'amour est dans le pré and I think I can see what might happening.

Code:
<programme start="20190909210500 +0200" stop="20190909220000 +0200" showview="" channel="C118.api.telerama.fr">
    <title>L'amour est dans le pré</title>
    <sub-title>Episode 5</sub-title>
    <desc lang="fr">Saison : 14 - Quelques semaines après avoir décacheté leurs courriers tant attendus, les célibataires découvrent, lors d'un entretien d'une dizaine de minutes, celles et ceux qui leur ont écrit. Jean-Michel, un peu intimidé, se prépare à vivre son premier rendez-vous amoureux depuis près de quarante ans.</desc>
    <credits>
      <presenter>Karine Le Marchand</presenter>
    </credits>
    <category lang="fr">téléréalité</category>
    <length units="minutes">55</length>

    <episode-num system="xmltv_ns">13..</episode-num>
    <video>
      <aspect>16:9</aspect>
      <quality>HDTV</quality>
    </video>
    <premiere />
    <rating system="CSA">
      <value>Tout public</value>
    </rating>
  </programme>

Hi Smile

Martin

Almost all my sheduled recordings or bad named in Kodi :
  • L'amour est dans le pré
  • On n'est pas couché
  • L'amour est dans le pré
  • The Voice Kids
  • Pékin express : itinéraire bis
  • Pékin express : la route des 50 volcans
  • Tahiti Quest

If it can help, these are recordings well named :
  • Rendez-vous en terre inconnue
  • Jamel et ses amis au Marrakech du rire 2018
  • Le Marrakech du rire 2019
  • Fort Boyard : toujours plus fort

Maybe useful : i was using the same xmltv file with Argus TV backend before i siwtch to NextPVR and i hadn't bad namings.

Do you know others xmltv source for french TV ? I often see about "sheduled direct" but is it restricted to some country only ?

Thanks
