Are you using today's release of NextPVR? (it fixed an issue that could happen with the way some IPTV providers are redirecting streams)

Didn't think they may be redirecting. Makes sense since they change from 1080 to 720 and sometimes 540 so would require a redirect to accomplish this.  And likely, as Martin suggests, to mitigate excess load.  Don't think the sub could be asked to try a reconnect to a client. The client always negotiates with the server. And I know the answer I'd get. Your only paying $12/mo for it, what do you expect for reliability.

Looking for either a more reliable IPTV provider than Beast or software that can deal with the inherent unreliability better. Already tried 3 of the top recommended providers in 6 months so I'm not hopeful of the former.

Didn't see an announcement Sub, I'll test to see if it helps this situation.

Pretty much all these IPTV services redirect. It only happens went initially connecting to the station. ie, redirecting you to a server that has the stream for that station. (allowing them to easily move it to another server if that one is taken down etc.

Instead it is continuously downloading small files. If the connection goes down for a short time, it can just resume exactly where it left off at the next file, with no lost content.

That said, I've certainly seen IPTV Providers stuff this up too, and have missing files etc. Ultimately you'll have to try it with your provider to see if they're better or not.
Using the latest ver: 5.0.0.191018.  m3u8 seems to live play and record as well as m3u, perhaps better.  I can see it downloads in chunks about 6MB in size every 10 seconds or so. The primary issue remains, if the stream stops at say 20 minutes into the program the log shows it never tries to resume the recording. When the top of the hour is reached the next recording starts on the same channel and records the entire hour fine.  This tells me somewhere between 20 minutes and 60 minutes the stream was definitely working again otherwise the next programmed hour wouldn't have recorded perfectly.  Should the recording resume after a stalled stream using either m3u or m3u8?  Let me know if there is any way I can assist providing files or access to server, if needed.

The m3u8 helps with missing segments, but it doesn't help with crappy providers, which we talked about before. Same things happen with weak OTA signal and cable outages for normal tuners, they are just rarer.

Last time you brought this up I asked what a good provider was and you didn't offer one up.

Are you suggesting I'm a criminal, seriously?  I don't see you hammering anyone on THIS thread including Sub himself.  I think you need to give it a rest Martin.
