Android Client wont connect

Hi all,

Thanks for all the help so far. I am running NPVR V5 on my remote server and connecting my devices too it.

I have got it working succesfully on iOS so im confident I dont have an issue with my networking.

When I try to add the server to the NextPVR android client on my Nvidia shield it just wont connect. The error suggests that it couldnt establish any connecting and I should check that NPVR is running (Which it is).

I have attached my logs - can anyone spot anything wrong?

Your network is configured using public IP's rather than private so you won't be able to use the default PIN. You also have to enable remote API and remote streaming in config.xml

Thanks for your reply. I have changed my pin and looking in the config.xml I see: <AllowRemoteAPI>true</AllowRemoteAPI>

I used my revised pin to connect succesfully on my iPhone and iPad succesfully.

Do the logs ive attatched suggest I dont have those settings correct?

I say it failing from the iPad too but I didn't check every attempt.

Maybe try removing the Android source and readding it.

The iPad is definitely working, just tested to make sure.

When you say removing android source do you mean like delete NextPVR app on my shield? If so ive already tried that. Or do you mean by doing something inside NextPVR server side?

Im finding this all very confusing as its working on my iPhone and iPad correctl...y but cannot get it to work on my shield on both kodi and NextPVR and on LibreELEC RPi.

Really appreciate your help.

It's really a matter of entering the correct IP and port and making sure the firewall is opened correctly for both internal an external and private and public networks. If your local LAN devices don't work it is probably firewall but use the local LAN IP not the external IP.

Thanks Martin, I think the point I am trying to make is as far as I can tell I have successfully done all of this, my reasons for thinking this are:

1. I have opened port 8866 on the server in the server firewall - I believe this is confirmed by the fact my iPhone and iPad using the NextPVR app are working as expected.
   
2. I am confident my pin is correct - Again I believe this is confirmed by the fact my iPhone and iPad are working.
   
3. I am able to play streams locally on the server
   

Apologies for repeating the same question but I'm really struggling to get my head around the issue.

Can you post a new set of logs, and let me know what time you tried to connect with the android app?

Nevermind - I found what I was looking for.

There is some public-key encrypted diagnostic messages in the log files, which I can decrypt to help me diagnose these types login issues. I'll PM you some comments.
