Hi,

New to NextPVR, and learning how to use it for the same things I use WMC.

When I record baseball games in WMC, it's easy to set it to record up to three additional hours after the scheduled end of the game.  One rare occasion, every minute of was needed to capture an entire extra-inning game.

In NextPVR when setting the post-padding for a recording, the highest value that can be set is 89 minutes.  I looked in the config.xml, but didn't see a place where this was configured.

I know there's a feature that extends the recording time for sports recordings, but the forum postings I've seen don't make it seem like you'd want to rely on it for a critical game.  I'd rather configure the recording for a lot of extra time.

Manual recordings are an option, but there's that much more chance for a fat fingered guy to set one up wrong, as I just did with the Rose Bowl.

Is there a way to change the maximum post-padding value so it doesn't max out at 89 minutes?

Thanks,

Mike

If you are using Schedules Direct you might want to consider trying NextEnd which will keep extending the stop time of many North American sports that go into extra innings, overtime etc. It can also be configured to stop recording when the game is over.

As a NextPVR v4 user, you timed your request a bit too late Big Grin

I've stopped making changes to v4, and moved onto v5. I can look into making this configurable there.

Thanks. I wasn't expecting the product to be patched, just looking for a location where the value might be changed by the user. Sounds like it must be hard coded in v4.

The NextEnd plug-in is the one people seem to be having problems with, based on forum posts. I will give it a try when I get a chance.

The end limit is hard coded. Three hours of post padding is unusual, as is a baseball game going that long and some go longer so it is not perfect. One issue with post padding is it is optional so NextPVR could stop the recording if it feels it needs the tuner for another reason.

There have been problems reported on NextEnd for sure but people typically don't make forum posts when something works. It is dependent on a couple of web sites so things like rain delays (which can add 24 hours to events) are a logic problem. MLB uses a different server than other sports so I am not sure what to expect with it.
