i have two duals and three single installed, so a dual could not had been unplugged at the time because otherwise i wouldn't had been able to record six. this is very consistent it, happens every time i try it. thx

I can see the attempt to use a device at that specific time. There no errors returned from anything, so everything looks find from NextPVR's perspective, but the device doesn't lock onto a signal, so probably doesn't delivers any data:
If you try doing 7 recordings (instead of live tv), what is the error listed on the recording in the Recordings screen?
If you're sure it's got a good signal, you might find it's a limitation of the Hauppauge drivers. Can you get all 7 tuners working simultaneously in the Hauppauge software? I know there is definitely some devices that have drivers that support a maximum number of tuners.
