Desktop app fails to start

After installing v5 with the new installer I attempted to run the desktop app from the tray and got a .Net Framework error window, then another error window after acknowledging the first one. I didn't have .Net Framework installed so I tried downloading and installing .Net but I still got the error message and the desktop app still failed to run.
Other than this NextPVR seems to run ok.

Does adding this Microsoft runtime get it working?

I have trouble launching from the tray too, different error but it appears to be using the registry and not the relative path.
Does your registry HKLM\NPVR\V5_Location match the root location for client\NextPVR.exe ? Martin

Sorry, I still think I'm on the right track with runtimes. SlimDX seems to use this older microsoft runtime:

The registry setting is only used by the installer. It doesn't matter to nextpvr.exe or npvrtray.exe

Relative to NPVRTray.exe, it's expecting to find a .\client\nextpvr.exe My mistake, unfortunately the tray app must have been set by a previous install to a different location when I used the installer. I have removed this bad link for Task Manager Startup. Martin
