I use these a lot to auto-record shows based on keywords/shows/channels.

In v4 Searchlite lets you import them into NextPVR compatible manual searches. This works better for me because these follow the NextPVR rules to avoid duplicates.

FYI I'm quite sure that the answer to your original question is "no"--at least not as-is/automatically. None of the NEWA services exist in v5 which is why Martin had to redo X-NEWA client for Kodi to use only sub's APIs in v5.

But, as Martin alludes to, you can probably implement the same or similar recording rules in v5 using the built-in recording rules. But you may not be able to do that from a GUI interface.

If you want to post some examples of your NEWA searches, we can probably tell you if they're possible and give you guidance on how you'd implement them in v5.

Cheers folks; Brett some examples here. The zip is where they got saved so you could see what was happening. Nice way to manage it manually too if needed. I also ran the NEWA_AutoSearch.exe manually from PostUpdateEPG.

That one example should be able to be converted by Searchlite for recordings. v5 doesn't have a saved search feature.

Hi sub

Tried the v5 installer and kudos to you for having it update v4 seamlessly. The only thing I really, really miss is WebAdmin, with saved auto-searches from UJB and the access like this pic? Any chances of seeing this make a come back please?

To be honest, it wasn't really on my radar.

In theory you can already create a recording with the same types of rules using an advanced manual recurring recording, but you currently have to type in the sql clause manually. In future I'll look into adding some sort of symbol (like a pencil or "...") at the side of that advanced rule text, which will pop up a window which allows you to select some of the rules like the screenshot above, and it'll make the sql for you.

Look forward to that cheers.

Hi Sub,

how would you insert an advanced query checking two conditions?

Here's a typical example from my use cases:

  <Search id="Ben Stiller">
    <SearchVersion>4.3</SearchVersion>
    <SearchName autoShowSearch="False" autoRecordSearch="True" caseSensitiveSearch="False">Ben Stiller</SearchName>
    <SearchTitle>False</SearchTitle>
    <SearchSubTitle>False</SearchSubTitle>
    <SearchDescription>False</SearchDescription>
    <SearchCastCrew>True</SearchCastCrew>
    <MatchTitle>False</MatchTitle>
    <MatchSubTitle>False</MatchSubTitle>
    <MatchDescription>False</MatchDescription>
    <StartTitle>False</StartTitle>
    <StartSubTitle>False</StartSubTitle>
    <StartDescription>False</StartDescription>
    <SearchPhrase>Ben Stiller</SearchPhrase>
    <SearchGenre>
      <Genre>Movie</Genre>
    </SearchGenre>
    <SearchLengthMin>
    </SearchLengthMin>
    <SearchLengthMax>
    </SearchLengthMax>
    <TreeviewSearchOrder>
    </TreeviewSearchOrder>
    <SearchChannels />
    <SearchStartDate>
    </SearchStartDate>
    <SearchStartTime>
    </SearchStartTime>
    <SearchEndDate>
    </SearchEndDate>
    <SearchEndTime>
    </SearchEndTime>
    <SearchDays>
      <Day>True</Day>
      <Day>True</Day>
      <Day>True</Day>
      <Day>True</Day>
      <Day>True</Day>
      <Day>True</Day>
      <Day>True</Day>
    </SearchDays>
  </Search>
