Video Archive - minor wishlist request

I have a small request to make with regards to the Videos plugin that comes with VA. Specifically, the name of the Videos folder. The name is a misrepresentation of what the Videos menu truly is, a complete replacement for the built-in Recordings menu. The fact that I use the My Videos plug-in just compounds the problem. My wife has no idea which menu to use (Recordings, Videos, My Videos). It really confuses the hell out of her. :confused: Would it be possible to rename the Videos folder to My TV, TV Recordings or some other clever moniker that better reflects what the menu actually does?

Are you asking about renaming the button that shows up on the menu? if so, you can do this already. If you look at the skin.xml file in the archive directory under your active skin syou will see that it contains something like:

<!-- Button Configuration -->
<MyButtons>
<VideoArchive>
<Name>Videos</Name>
<Description>Browse your collection of recordings</Description>
</VideoArchive>
<DVD2MPEG>
<Name>DVD to MPEG</Name>
<Description>Convert DVDs to MPEG files</Description>
</DVD2MPEG>
</MyButtons>
</settings>

Just chnage the Name and the button name will change. Note that you will need to run the config application after you edit the skin.xml file to tell GBPVR that you want to enable the plug-in that has whatever it is that you set as the new name before it will show up in GBPVR itself.

That's exactly what I needed! Thanks a ton! The wife loves it.

Now all I have to do is remember to rename the Videos button to My TV Shows after every plugin update.

Actually, as long as I don't modify that file the installer should be smart enough to leave your version since it will be newer.
