running beelink x45 which has a gemini lake processor with 8 gb of ram. ubuntu 18.04 installed
im trying to connect locally.
i have tried the checks you suggested and is ok,apart from not loading web page.

Does the URL you're using to connect to the web page have /index.html on the end?

http://127.0.0.1:8866/index.html

Some times it works without the "/index.html", but other times, it won't work without it. Sub isn't sure why.

The trouble with this is you typically need to be able to load the web server to get the logs.  I am hoping Brett's post will help.

i have tried with and without /index attached and get the same result.
i have read the wiki and now have a headache. nothing in there leads me to a solution. appreciate the help, but cant understand why. the install was carried exactly the same as on mint 19 yet that works fine.the only difference i can find is that the ubuntu setup goes through a second router with a static dns ,but surely that would not cause this

The wiki isn't designed for this kind of problem, that why I asked for the status

If you type

curl http://127.0.0.1:8866/service?method=rec...astupdated do you see output?

if yes try

curl http://127.0.0.1:8866 -v

will tell you if the server is up and if you have a router issue or not.
