Version 5 install issue with Ceton Tuner???

I had version 4.25 working fine with my ceton tuner but since installing version 5 when I try to setup the tuner device all it finds is the IPTV option. It can't find my device no matter how many times I hit refresh. I reinstalled the old version and it finds the tuners?? Any ideas to try?

Sorry, unfortunately there is no support for Ceton tuners in v5, an no plans to add it:
- I have no environment I can use for testing Ceton stuff any more, - these devices were always a pain to work with, and very different to other tuners - these devices haven't been sold for a few years, - there isn't many people still using them. (so hard to justify the massive effort to support them directly)

That said, there is a mechanism in v5 for users to add other non-supported tuners, using batch files etc, and there is a couple of threads here, where users were trying to get their Ceton devices working in v5. (it sounded like they were close, but it's quite a manual process, with more experimentation required)

I think the Ceton proxy sounds easiest. My extra with opendct works very well with other tuners but users seem to have trouble with the steps in making an extra device work.

Looks like I may need to spend some more time on it, I installed CetonProxy, it found my IP for the card, selected a few channels to test but in Emby it didn't detect it automatically and when I input the IP address from the CetonProxy app manually didn't find it and I couldn't ping it. I think I need to deselect the tuner I selected in NextPVR, maybe that's tieing it up??

If your real purpose is to use Emby not NextPVR just don't use NextPVR at all and connect Emby to the proxy as an HDHR device.

Are you running Emby Server and cetonproxy on the same PC that has the Ceton card? You might need to manually tell cetonproxy which of your network adapters to listen on to act as an HDHomeRun. Expand the "Advanced Settings", and for "Listen IP as HDHomeRun", type in the IP address given to your computer for your local network.

You got it, while I don't have Emby premier so I couldn't actually test it Emby did recognize it once I entered the listen IP in advanced. I'm assuming this should work for V5. Good call. I actually run Emby from a jail on my home NAS and the tuner is in my media center tv. |
