Sub might change to make uploading easier. You need to attach the zip file not the log files. If it is bigger than 2MB then you need to remove some files nrecord and device logs are most important for this problem.

when I try to see any TV channel on Live TV I get an error: "Unable to find available capture device" (??? is the same device just used for scanning etc. !!!).

Apologies for the log mistake ... I see this error in the nrecord.log ...

I just attached the zip file and it is 502Kb only.

If you are trying to update a post after uploading, you also need to click the Update button.

Sorry, but I still don't understand what you mean.
I had already entered post # 4, then I realized I had not attached the logs, then I edited it, I attached the zip and sent clicking Update.
The forums are many and all different and all with their own non-uniform rules, what did I do wrong?

PS: if you take a look at #4 you can see "Yesterday, 11:23 PM (This post was last modified: Yesterday, 11:33 PM by mame.)"

Thanks I didn't realize you were updating an old post. Things are fine now. You say you have V4 working with that REALTEK device on the same PC could you upload V4 logs showing it working.

Is the main problem that you can't find the channels you want?

There is another issue you try and play TV during an EPG update which is not possible but you need to schedule these for times you are not watching.

I did wonder about this too - whether an EPG update was happening when he was trying to watch tv, so the tuner was busy for other stuff.

NextPVR's web app lets you close the 'updating epg' popup, even though it continues updating in the background, and unfortunately it's not very clear to the user that the update is still happening. You could very easily assume the tuner is available.

Well, I realized that the v.4 recording service was not stopped as I thought I did, currently it is (see jpg), now everything is quite OK ….

but ....
- Going to Channels, selecting a Radio-channel, the window get all black without any info (normal girth bar) as happens in v.4.
 Then, I have to right-click select Channels and go to a TV-channel in order to resume the normality (look at the attached clip.zip with a short mp4).
- Again (as in v.4) the mouse gets problems:  someway its trace disappears making it impossible to use.
Now, by example, it happens opening the Channel window and going around (look at the attached clip.zip with a short mp4).

- Somewhere can I find a user guide (or at least a draft one)?
- How to get a preferred channel list? I tried selecting Advanced Tools, adding a new group, then ...?
- How to update EPG (by keyboard)? It seems possible only automatically setting a time to do.
- How to easily see somewere the channels being recorded?
- How to stop a recording before the set time expires? (CTRL-K to start, but ... to stop?)
- Channel list: I do not understand by what criterion they are numbered: for some the LCN is respected, but many assume an unusual numbering.
Some examples: the RAI HD channels (1-2-3) commonly have a LCN 501-502-503, instead they are 71-201-202; RAI Sport HD is commonly LCN 57, instead it is 203.
I know they can be edited by changing the number but it is a costly process.

note: clip.mp4 has a very low resolution in order to be able to attach it.

This is pretty much a hobby project though, and documentation is not high on the priority list.

You can go to the Settings->Channels screen, click Advanced Tools->Channel Groups. Click the 'plus' to add a new group. Call it something like 'Favourites'. Click on your new Favourites group to select it. Start ticking channels that you'd like to be in that group. Go the Settings->General screen, and select your new group. You'll now find the Channels and TV Guide pages are showing just the channels in your Favourites group.

You can manually set your EPG if that's what you're asking. On your Settings->Channels screen, click the wrench over the right hand side next to a channel. From there you can select the EPG source and the mapping.

Alternatively you can use the Advanced Tools -> Automap, but it sounds like you've already found that.

On the Settings->About page, click 'Device Status'. It'll tell you what is currently happening. Alternatively you can double click the 'n' icon in the windows system tray.

In nextpvr.exe (since you refered to Ctrl-K), you'd have to stop it from the TV Guide or Recordings screens.

(in nextpvr.exe you can select your channel group at the top of the tv guide screen, by selecting 'group' from the top menu)

It's likely a timing issue. It may not have found LCN info. You may find that scanning again would have found the correct numbers.
