Best place to start?

I'm interested in coding some plugins of my own. What's the best place, in your opinions, to start when developing a simple plugin? I'm already a .NET developer, so no Hello World stuff.

Take a look through the Wishlist forum.
Lots of things in there people would like to see.

the best place to start would probably the tutorial on the wiki (i think its on the wiki), or looking at the code of a very basic plugin, for example the dvd ripper (thats where i started), once you get your head around how gbpvr does things, its pretty simple stuff.
