New Install Help

I just installed 5 and 

1. Where is the windows shortcuts? they are nowhere to be found.

2. How do I watch/view closed captions on the web?

3. Opening the desktop app through the tray link gives me an audio mpeg1 not available in settings message but I can't get to these settings.


Help from anyone would be much appreciated.

There are no closed captions in the web app, you need a real client like NextPVR or Kodi for that.

For NextPVR.exe setup check here https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/player-settings specifically decoders .

The new wiki is still a work in progress.

I meant desktop shortcuts? Or are they only available from the taskbar icon?

Ah. The installer doesn't create a desktop shortcut, but there is a start menu shortcut.

There is nothing stopping you from creating a desktop shortcut if you prefer one there.

You should either be able to press Atl-Y and select Closed Captions, or right click and select 'Subtitle Stream' -> 'Closed Captions'. (I just tried here with a US recording to double check and it worked fine)

2. How do I watch/view closed captions on the web?

I had to make a few tweaks to the player.html and player.css files to get closed captions on the web.  If you are willing to make changes to those files ping me back and I'll show you what I changed.
