Are the command line options described in the V4 Wiki still available with the V5 desktop app?

In the drag & drop thread I alluded to this, they have pretty much all moved to nscripthelper. What function are you looking at?

I have occasionally used them all. Can we start there? Particularly -removehistory, -multi, -recurring and -reload.

None of the old command lines are supported. It's pretty much a new app. I kept things the same as the old app where possible, but some things, like these command line functions, needed to change because of the different way the application was structured. nextpvr.exe does support an optional "-multiple" which is the equivalent of the old "-multi" though.

For the other functions, if I think it serve a useful purpose, and people that are actively asking for it, I'll add features in the new NScriptHelper to provide the equivalent functionality.

Of the four preferred functions I listed, the -removehistory is top of the list. Sometimes NextPVR won't record a show it thinks is a duplicate when it really isn't.

Thanks for your consideration.

The only way it'll think it's a duplicate is if your EPG is saying it is. I'm not aware of any application bugs in this area.

That said, I've modified the next version to support "-removehistory" on NScriptHelper.

Thanks for the implementation, sub.

I seem to remember numerous occasions in V4 where the only suggested fix was to use -removehistory.I'v e seen no issues with V5.

If you delete a recording including scheduled recordings and later decide you want to record it automatically you migth need to remove history. It is pretty drastic since if you know you need to do that you probably can do a one time recording.

Also, if you have a recording which ends up not being what was originally scheduled (i.e. the station pre-empted the original programming), then use the "Forget" option before deleting that recording. This will cause NextPVR to remove the history record indicating that the episode has already been recorded--that way when it airs in the future, NextPVR will automatically record it.
