NPVR Writes A New Folder Of The Same Name As Existing

After getting my v.5 restarted with newest update, I had a recording earlier this morning, and couldn't find it in my folder I told it to save the recording to. But after a few clicks, I noticed that suddenly another folder appeared with the same folder name, and the file was there. Sorry I don't have a pic to prove it, as I've already deleted the original folder.

1. If I put a "\" after the folder name in settings, does this cause a problem?

2. If not, what can cause this issue?

I'm using MS Edge for access, and OS is Win10.

I do not know what you saw ... but ... Folder "A" cannot contain more than one folder called "B" ... Full Stop ... Smile

NextPVR creates a sub folder for each show in the folder you specify unless you specify

<AutoCreateFolders>false</AutoCreateFolders>

There's a Setting for that ... "Create season directory ..." ... https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/Add...g-defaults

The only time I've seen a system have two apparent folders with the same name is when one has an errant space at the end (which you can't normally see). I've seen this when the when the broadcasted EPG entry has changed.
I ended up with two folders (and separate entries in the Recordings page) for the show The Last Kingdom.

Investigation showed one was "The Last Kingdom" and the other "The Last Kingdom ".

It shouldn't happen.....but it did.

Fixed it by removing the errant space in the folder and Database. :-)

Ok, so the final "\" in the Record Directory path settings won't make a difference (whether it's there or not)?

I checked for any space in the folder name, and there was no space in either. It was a duplicate name, including spelling - anyone have a suggestion? All I saw was two "RecordedTV" folders under my E:\ drive. The original one had a previous file I moved there, and the new one had the TV movie that was recorded this morning about 3AM. So I moved the old file to the new folder and deleted the old one. The old RecordedTV folder was created Saturday, ‎March ‎25, ‎2017, ‏‎12:33:18 AM, and had some hidden files from my old cyberlink program I used to use on my old computer that went bad. That folder had been used for years with cyberlink (power director). The new RecordedTV folder was created Wednesday, ‎July ‎29, ‎2020, ‏‎3:18:00 AM (today) by nvpr and contained the new recording with the movie subfolder.

This is why I was asking if the final \ has anything to do with it. I'm almost afraid to eliminate it, as I don't know what that will do. The attached pic will prove what I see.

As suggested it will be a space or something like that.

No on Windows you cannot add a slash. If you upload the logs we'd be in a better position to help.

Ok, I experimented by removing the \ and it still works. So enough of this issue, as I have a more serious one which I will open another thread.
