That shows the docker and kodi starting at roughly the same time so the initial connect will fail. Did you check the dmesg output?

You may need to go to the LE forum to ask if they know why the initial docker, which we see starting as a 0 byte log file, fails.

What would you like me to do with dmesg?

Just ssh to the box and type dmesg and paste output here?

No zip up the text output and then attach it.

Hi again, I reported previously that after suspending / sleeping the computer that (like after a reboot) I have to toggle the NextPVR client to disabled then enabled in order for this to work. This is incorrect. It doesn't work at all after suspend no matter what I do. It doesn't complain nor show any popup and all appears well but when I select a channel (after suspend) if doesn't do anything then eventually gives up.

After reboot - Toggle the NextPVR client to disabled then enabled sorts the issue
After suspend - Nothing I do works to get Live TV working, need to reboot machine then toggle the NextPVR client to disabled then enabled sorts the issue

Starting to think this is a lost cause now :|

I believe there is an issue and sub needs to release the tuners after linux sleep. You could confirm that by starting Kodi not using a tuner putting the device to sleep and then seeing if the tuner works. If that is the case there is nothing you could do in Kodi to fix this.

In TVheadend and I think VDR, there is the option to "UNLOAD DVB MODULES BEFORE SUSPEND" where I'd do an LSMOD to determine what to enter in this field. Is that related?

I tried what you said...

1. Booted machine and started up Kodi
2. Suspend
3. Kodi doesn't respond at all after wake up (I have to SSH remotely and do a shutdown -r)

Suspecting the NextPVR addon to make a difference, I then also tried...

1. Booted machine and started up Kodi
2. Toggled NextPVR client to disabled then enabled
3. Kodi responds fine, however Tuners don't appear to work (no TV as it just gives up like before)

I am not convinced that #3 is addon related, I can crash Kodi on suspend when the addon isn't installed. There are some big changes on sleep/resume in Matrix too.

I wouldn't mind seeing both the Kodi logs for that those scenarios just to make sure I get it working in Matrix.

Martin.

Hi again,

Do you have any plans to make the NextPVR backend a Libreelec / Kodi Service I can install via a repo instead of this cumbersome and fiddly (not working really) Docker workaround? Docker is a LibreElec service so it's not really surprising that the time for Docker + NextPVR backend to load is too long for the frontend to handle.

Sorry no, I have no plans to do that at this stage. Already too many different builds etc to maintain. ?
