Trouble with Schedules Direct

I'm installing the latest release of NextPVR on a new build of a windows 10 64 bit machine. When it comes time to set up the EPG, I try to connect to my (active) Schedules Direct account and I get "Failed to login to Schedules Direct. Confirm you've entered your correct username and password, then try again."

I can log into my SD account just fine on their site with these same credentials. Why wont NextPVR connect properly? I've tried editing the channel parameters to use SD, but it hangs up after putting in my zip code and just says "...loading" in the next field forever.

It's best to upload the zipped logs. The web site and the SD JSON interface do act differently.

Yes that is good. It's looking like you have some firewall, a/v suite or VPN blocking all your outbound IP. It can't try and find HDHR devices either.

I do run a VPN on this machine, which I temporarily disabled to reattempt the SD connection. I think I'll start from scratch and try reinstalling everything with the VPN off. I'll report back if that helps.

After a clean install with VPN disabled and firewall turned off, the problem still exists. Still scratching my head. Any suggestions?

You mentioned a/v suite. I do have Roxio CreatorNXT6 installed, but that wasn't an issue in any prior build.

Is it possible to download earlier releases of NextPVR to try? Never had these problems with V4.

It's definitely something networky at your end, like firewall or antivirus software blocking all out going network requests. ie, tweaking some NextPVR settings or installing an older version won't fix this type of thing - you'll need to determine what it is that is blocking network traffic, and have it allow NextPVR to use the internet.

Do you (cecilbeaver) have something on your system or your router to try to block ads, etc? Maybe that is classifying the schedulesdirect.com site as an "advertiser" or redirecting it.

Brett it wasn't just SD. Broadcasts for the HDHR discovery are getting the same error if you note sub's post.

Yeah, I did see that. My point was that even if he had turned off anti-virus and firewall on the pc, it still could be something on his network "actively interfering" with the (unknown) network traffic. I should have been more generic in my example. Smile
