I used PIP all the time in v4 for watching live sports while following multiple games. No wonder I haven't noticed PIP is missing in v5.. :/

Yeah, Chrome and Firefox have this and can be useful on the web, but won't help in the desktop client.

For me when I click PIP in FF it just detaches the video from the browser window.

Yeah, that's how the browser PIP features work. They pop out the video to your desktop so you can have a video running in a small window without having the browser tab itself open and you can do other things. PIP isn't such a great term for it I think, it's just a "pop up video player".

Obviously real PIP in TV viewing is far different with simultaneous streams, swapping between them, etc.

Multiple tuners are more useful for recording multiple channels, or recording and live tv at the same time etc.

I use PIP regularly while watching live sports. I hope that it's at least on your todo list, even at a low priority.
By the way, I noticed, I can get to PIP on the web browser interface. But can only populate one picture .

In the meantime, I'll stick with V4.
