Most of the IPTV playlist map the channels using the TVG-ID. Would be nice if we can map the channels using the tvg-id instead of the channel name.

I have a playlist and 3 EPG guides, not all my channels can be mapped from one single EPG source. I tried automapping the channels using the name of the channels but it doesn't work well. All my channels are using tvg-id to be linked to the guide. I use other third party players and it is working well.

When you import an IPTV source, supplying the m3u and xmltv urls, it does the mapping using the tvg-id tag.

It doesn't do it if you later if you try to use the 'automap' because it only knows the tvg-ids when it's importing the m3u. (this information isn't stored in the database, so can't be used later)

I tried using the automap but is not working. Maybe I am doing something wrong, or, I am not using the correct settings.

I have two EPG sources, one from my provider the other one is a custom source. I am using the custom source as my main EPG. All the channels that are mapped with the tvg-id from the custom source are working fine. Whereas, the channels that are mapped to my IPTV provider are not.

Other than using the automap I can't link two EPG sources to the same playlist?

I am using nextpvr inside docker container.

Any idea what I can do to fix this issue?

Did you try 3 IPTV source playlists with 3 different EPG source files?

Hi Martin,

I tried one IPTV source with three EPG sources.

I have all the channels in one list and I am using an external editor for m3u. Split them different source files would be more work.

I have some logs to show:

Is there a way how to fix the issue using an automated way rather than mapping the channels manually?

I have an iptv player which is using the same playlist with the same EPG sources and the channels get mapped automatically.

Can we have an option called "additional EPG source" when adding a new IPTV provider?

I've never come across an IPTV provider with multiple xmltv sources (and can't imagine multiple with the same tvg-id). It's probably not worth the effort and UI ugliness of allowing the user to enter multiple xmltv urls when importing the channels.

In the group filter dropdown, I might be able to add a 'channels with EPG mapping' group. This way you could import the m3u multiple times, with different EPG source urls, but only the subset of channels that have an EPG mapping.

Hi,

The IPTV provider has only one EPG source, the thing is I use two EPG sources for one playlist. Usually, the IPTV provider EPG is not consistent and always have missing EPG data. This is the reason why I am using two sources. Maybe I didn't explain myself well. Sorry for about that.

I prefer what is best for you and easy, as long I can map the channels correctly with multiple EPG sources, I don't mind what implementation is.

Thanks for heads-up. In that case, I will wait for the new feature.

A current solution is still to use multiple IPTV devices. You could use the same playlist and select the channels appropriate to the the configure guide.

It would be awesome if NextPVR stored tvg-id and tvg-name as more reliable options for IPTV Auto Map/Auto Merge.

This would be consistent with almost all IPTV editors, apps and add-ons like IPTV Simple: https://github.com/kodi-pvr/pvr.iptvsimp...v-elements
