used NextPVR4 without issues with numerous iptv providers for a long time except for one recently. stream play just fine with this one provider in VLC but in NPVR4 it's just black, no audio or video. tried recording and its just file size zero. any help tracking this down would be appreciated.

I would have needed the nrecord.log to be able to tell you anything. Regardless of the logs though, any fix would need to happen in v5, since I'm no longer updating v4. You'd need to confirm first if the problem exists in NextPVR v5.

No, I have found out that the issue does not exist in v5. Unfortunately the manual channel mapping in v5 is driving me crazy enough to not want to move over. The Mapping dropdown list is extremely flaky.

You'd be better to describe the problem better than flaky. Certainly the experience in IPTV in both v4 and v5 managing large IPTV lists is not like managing a traditional tuner. V5 did add the filter option so that you only exclude groups you don't need which might be helpful.

Are you talking about the bug on the manual channel mapping popup where the drop down list of channels changes unexpected list (once for the first channel you view, twice for the second channel you view, three times for the third channel etc....all happening at kind of the same time, ultimately looking like the list reloads)? This can definitely make things confusing when using the manual mapping popup. It's fixed for the next build
I'm intending to get a release out this weekend.

It's fixed for the next build yes thats it. the list changing unexpectedly while moving through it is confusing. the reloading and changing between the lists makes one want to give up. after going through that I opted to stick with v4 but then this black channel issue popped up. |
