I dont believe any plugin developer has received a donation yet. Only sub.

If you want I can send a private to you later this afternoon.

When you use xview you have to change the gbpvr service to run as a local user so I can connect to that users desktop.

Private = Pre release version of Xrecord.

You dont have to start another gbpvr-mvp. It uses the existing one. The XView application will capture your desktop you dont have to do anything.

can someone test this for me. It is a replacement dvd player.

It runs differently on a MVP and a PC. PC it plays the DVD. MVP it transcodes it to mpeg and plays it.

Edit the config.xml in the xdvd directory under the skin.

You must have VLC installed.

ooo,i'm on it! lol excellent speed there...i played a dvd from start to finish after only about 15 secs of lead-time into encoding last night..Smile [and that's doing a full audio-and-video recompression on an 1800 p4] and not even a hiccup..
i'm gonna have to work on getting the 16:9 figured out..the conversion gets the whole frame but on MVP the sides get cut off on widescreen movies. but no fault of the plugin..Smile
thanx dude...excellent work!
off to go play with it..

yea, would love a private of x-view.. can't seem to get anything but the hourglass over blank screen.. not looking for video sending, but being able to browse the web would be fantastic! [not to mention other possibilities]
thanx for the great work! Smile

ok,just got the plugin working...had to adjust some things and remember to restart the service! and overwriting works fine..although it will always ask if you want to restart/resume cuz it's the same video file for all dvd's..
any way to bypass this? also one feature seems needed,a way to kill a running VLC as i tried to put in pskill in bat but it says can't access the mpg to delete it cuz in use by another process so it won't run the batch file to kill existing VLC [in case you want to start over] maybe just put in a kill process before trying to delete] not sure but i think VLC will overwrite by default so you don't need to delete the file,it will do it if needed itself...

but nice...i'll be adjusting my playmvpdvd.bat for my settings but the plugin works great! Big Grin
most excellent work dude!!
now just to make it all pretty and every MVP user is gonna have to have it!
i'll work on vlc tweaking for best viewability and hopefully find a fix for the 16:9's..
i have to say that the GBPVR community is one of the best examples of what is possible in an open, collaborative software environment..Smile
more power to the power users!

I need to test the xview on my mvp. It seemed to work on my pc need to figure out why it is getting a blank screen.

I will add logic to kill all of the running vnc. And I will try to kill the resume screen on these videos.

I figure we will make it pretty once we get all of the functionality working right.

I have installed XDVD on my box. It took me a while to get the select play to work. I had to change the setting in VLC ( after finding what VLC means) to the Hauppauge 350 codac. It worked extremly well on the MVP. It ran the extened verison gladiator (171 min) without a glich. I noticed if I push stop during the movie, I could restart the movie or start a different movie noproblem. But when I pushed back/exit and tried again an error message would come up to the DVD file. I can live with that.

If I can make a suggesion to add a play all titles button or like the rippers play main movie. A Post splash screen after the select play button is hit of the movies Info, like in MY Video would be nice as we are waiting the 10 to 18 sec for the transcode to buffer up.

I am still unable to get the iso to play, This I would really like because I can back up my DVD collection and use the same file to make a DVD back up. Thans for the plug-in

can you send me the error message?

The problem with the splash screen is I dont know the show info.

For the iso make sure you have daemon tools installed.

Thanks for your message. The problem with the .iso ext was I did not unblock the *.bat files and XP sercurity would not let them run. So I unblocked it from there properties screen. Now everything works great except when restarting the movies. The error messsage I get is "G:\DVD is being used by another progrm cannot start" somthing like that. G:\DVD is my transcoded spot from the config file. If there is a log file I will send it if you cant tell me what it might be called. I know somthing is left open because a cannot delet it from my disk until I reboot it.

I know this is a lot to ask, but I'm courious if future plans would involed DVD buttons? I was playing with VLC alone and notice it was able to play it as a normal DVD player.

thanks
Toby

PS is it normal for the file to be 1 to 2 GB in the 1st 30 seconds?
