Hi

To migrate to V5, I uninstalled V4 then installed V5.1.0 (201216).  Everything works great - followed instructions on this forum and migration was simple.

I was checking to make sure that everything from V4 was cleaned up by the uninstall.  After reviewing the forum I understand that there is one Windows registry entry that is not cleaned up (may be used in the future).  I have also found 3 files in c:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR.  they are

NUtility.dll
NShared.dll
NTray.exe

Since I can also find these files (with the exception of NTray which seems to have been renamed to NPVRTray) in the c:\Program Files\NextPVR directory  which is where V5 is installed, I assume that I can delete the c:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR directory and these 3 files.

Can this be confirmed please.  Thanks.

They aren't needed but it is possible the NTray.exe is still running which could explain why they are there. Maybe check msconfig just in case.

Hi

I checked msconfig and multiple other places and NTray is not in use.  NPVRTray is in Task Manager > Startup and is enabled.  Based on this it appears  the V5 executable is in use and the V4 is not.

I backed up c:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR to another drive (just in case) and then deleted the directory.  Testing has not revealed any problems.  I will update this tread if any problems are observed.

mallevand, thanks for the quick response.  PapaJay, Richmond Hill, Ontario
