Hi,

Just upgraded to v5, and all looking good so far!

Just wanted to ask, in the new windows client you have the usual options, but in v4 you could change or remove these, or even add new options that would run another application.

EG. I don’t store music or photos on my media PC, so would like to hide these options, also would be good if I could launch AppleTV or Netflix from menu option.

After the upgrade I can see in the config.xml file that my old options from v4 have been copied across, but v5 client seems to ignore them.

I searched the forums and the wiki and saw that plugins are not currently supported, but wanted to check if it was still possible to customise the menu options.

Thanks.

In the config.xml you should be able to enable/disable the default built in menu options. You can't currently add an executable menu item though, that runs some external program.

This is the section I think you mean from config.xml;

<MenuLayout>
<MenuItem enabled="true">TV Guide</MenuItem>
<MenuItem enabled="true">Recordings</MenuItem>
<MenuItem enabled="true">Live TV</MenuItem>
<MenuItem enabled="true">Search</MenuItem>
<MenuItem enabled="false">Music</MenuItem>
<MenuItem enabled="true">Videos</MenuItem>
<MenuItem enabled="false">Pictures</MenuItem>
<MenuItem enabled="false">DVD</MenuItem>
<MenuItem enabled="false">SlideOut</MenuItem>
<MenuItem enabled="true" exe="C:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR\updateepg.cmd" args="">Update EPG</MenuItem>
<MenuItem enabled="true">Exit</MenuItem>
<MenuItem enabled="false">On Demand</MenuItem>
</MenuLayout>

It looks like it was copied from my old v4 version, but I can still see the Music and Pictures options even though they are stated as disabled in the xml. Has the xml syntax changed between v4 and v5?

Thanks

Are you sure you are editing in the NPVR-data folder?

Oops, sorry.

I was looking at the old data directory from v4, for some reason it was deleted when I uninstalled the old software.

Found the right config.xml in the new npvr-data directory, and edited that, and can now hide menu items.

Sorry.
