Problem is still there. Would it help if I reinstalled NEXTPVR?

It is not an installation issue. You could try ticking the use legacy TS Reader option or even try using Kodi as the media player as it uses direct play.

Thanks to all who have tried to help with this problem. Unfortunately it looks like it's sometthing I'll just have to learn to live with.
Thanks again

It is likely something to do with your audio renderer. Usually the default is the best option to choose, but there are certain situations where it is not.

How is your audio leaving your PC? HDMI, speakers, SPDIF etc

Can you try both options, to see if this has an impact on the problem you're seeing? Maybe plugin wired headphones too if you have them.

Tried speakers, wireless headphones & wired headphones. The problem is identical with all three

I still suspect it's not to do with your choice of decoders, otherwise we'd have lots of other users reporting the same thing.

It sounds like something is wonky about your audio system on your PC, like you've installed something that is messing with the audio reference clock or something. There is all sorts of oddball utilities that claim they'll make something better, but in reality they just break shit.

The headphones have aptX low latency which works in conjunction with a dongle which also has aptX low latency. These were bought because my previous headphones were bluetooth and were out of sync all of the time without fail. The speakers did not have a sync problem except for the first 8/10 seconds which is still the case.
Apart from that, there is nothing I have done to change the audio/video.

Hi Alex

basically if Sub and Martin can't help you, no one can...but.. I was just comparing your logs to mine (I'm in London with Freeview HD).
I notice that you have a standard 1080 HD screen but that you appear to be recording from standard definition channels which are encoded with "old" MPEG.

[...startup]
2021-02-23 21:48:17.500 [DEBUG][1] Rendering for screen size: 1920x1080

2021-02-23 21:59:38.061 [DEBUG][1] Adding system MPEG2 decoder
2021-02-23 21:59:38.207 [DEBUG][1] Adding system MPEG1 Layer2 decoder

2021-02-23 21:59:38.769 [DEBUG][1] Graph filter list:
2021-02-23 21:59:38.769 [DEBUG][1] - NPVR PES Collector (DVBSubs)
2021-02-23 21:59:38.769 [DEBUG][1] - MPEG1 Audio Renderer
2021-02-23 21:59:38.769 [DEBUG][1] - EVR Renderer
2021-02-23 21:59:38.769 [DEBUG][1] - LAV Audio Decoder
2021-02-23 21:59:38.769 [DEBUG][1] - LAV Video Decoder
2021-02-23 21:59:38.769 [DEBUG][1] - NPVR TS Reader 5

Do you have Freeview HD channels (like BBC1 NW) that you can tune to instead of the SD ones as these use different and much more efficient video and audio encoding that SD.

I have a freeview HD tuner and ALL video and audio decoders set to LAV and it works perfectly. Live TV takes a couple of seconds to sort itself out but this is to be expected with PC based viewing (compared to watching on a TV).

I just thought it might be worth testing, although Sub or Martin might chime in and tell you to ignore me (in which case you should)
