EPG red indication missing

I've been using version 5 for a short while. I've noticed that scheduled recordings don't always show with red highlight in the EPG. I can't find any reason why some are red and some are not. The pending recordings all show up in the pending list screen, just not always red in the EPG screen. I'm never certain if the non-red shows are really going to be recorded or not. Am I doing something wrong or maybe something I need to change?

What's your EPG source? It doesn't have multiple entries for the same show?

I have used Schedules Direct for the EPG information for many years. My 3 recorders only use OTA broadcasts. Several broadcast providers are duplicated in various subchannels, but I rarely record anything from those channels. In my area, the major broadcast providers (NBC, CBS, ABC, etc.) only exist in a single broadcast frequency and those are where I sometimes don't see the red recording highlight in the EPG. 

I have also seen the narrow red recording bar above the EPG channels show red for a given time slot for a program listed in the pending recordings screen, but no program is highlighted red in any displayed channel for that time slot (all channels displayed, not a smaller group). I don't know, but my issue might have something to do with selecting a program to record, then canceling the recording, and then reselecting the same program for recording again using different pre/post times or single/all/new restrictions. I did begin noticing this happening in the last couple of newest releases of the Version 4 NPVR.

Was this in the web app, or nextpvr.exe? Does it show the same in both?

If someone wants to supply their npvr.db3 file when this issue is happening, I'll check it out.

Thinking back, IIRC, the issue only arose if the EPG was updated with the NPVR client running. The pending recordings list was updated but the TV Listings grid was not.

I now routinely close down the client when I go to bed, the EPG updates overnight and I fire up the client the next morning and everything appears correctly.

Thanks this help explain what I have seen in UI Client testing with Pluto TV. I just confirmed that I don't get new guide updates at all in the current session of NextPVR.exe or UI client. I need to exit or fully logout to see "No Details" replaced with the new channels.

Sub: I haven't used the web interface - I've used the .exe for so long that I don't see a need to change. I don't have a client/server setup, only a single PC with NPVR recording and watching, so the EPG is always updated while the client is running. Still, the problem only occurs now and then. I don't have this issue at the moment, but I'll send the files if it occurs anytime soon. Meanwhile, I'll try the suggestions in the other thread mentioned by Stanno. Thanks.

It is actually quite easy to duplicate if NextPVR is running and an EPG update occurs the triggers a new recording.
