There are a lot of smart people out there who have figured out the best configuration for the system and many of you have done a great job trying various hardwares that work and don't work. I'm wondering if there is a way to compile all the wisdom out there in an organized fashion, like maybe on a wiki site or on this website (if Sub allows it). It could be organized by PVR cards, graphics cards, processors, etc... People can add comments to it and ratings....
If you want to know why nPVR is the bomb, ask my wife!

Now thats a great idea...if you can tell me were to get a faster server that copes with the average 80 concurrent users, plus around 500GB of monthly traffic, for a similar price ($5 per month).

A friend who owns a hosting company had under-estimated just how successful my project would be when I first started thinking about GB-PVR...he said something like 'sure I'll host your project, how about US$5 per month'. I've held him to it Big Grin (Thanks Pete!). Obviously I'm not in a great position to demand better service, and donations dont cover the costs of hosting it elsewhere.

yesh - good deal though. maybe try caching everything using coral cache? just add this to every link: .nyud.net:8090 - haha - i bet it sounds easier than it actually would be.

heres the site: http://coralcdn.org/ - iv actually used it for a few pages on here, but its a pain to add it everytime im on the site.

i dunno if you could use it on the forums though... but maybe if its used for everything other than the forums, it could take the load off.

just thought i would throw that idea in there.
