To be honest, I'm not sure I'd implement this. It's a bit niche.

There are also some complications with the recording schedule and tuner availability if it's always being used to update the EPG. NextPVR defaults to doing the EPG update in the middle of the night, when most people wouldn't be using their tuner for anything else.

(not saying no though, may implement something like this at some future stage)

Jokes aside, is not that what I suggested requires a 1h interval by design.

Start hr/Frequency could be also  2:00/240 to check every 10 days.

I know very well, my scripts where way more complicated when I was on single tuner, (before starting to use NPVR)  to skip the EPG checks when the tuner was in use, anyway NPVR seem already intelligent enough to not break a current activity because the EPG check.

But nowadays one can buy a single tuner for 10 euro or a dual tuner for 40, so who's really interested in the matter is rarely limited by a single tuner setup.
