I don't understand this page
http://www.nextpvr.com/decoders.html

NextPVR is a 32bit application so will only see 32bit decoders on the machine. It can't see 64bit decoders, so these will not be listed.

It appeared to be a 64 bit application when I was installing it ?

The decoders are for NextPVR.exe the optional client app, not the backend.

Two files appear when I try to watch a TV channel.
And do they have anything in them, or are they zero bytes long?

That page is kind of out of date. The majority of NextPVR (the background server etc) will now run as a 64 bit application (on x64 Windows). The nextpvr.exe client application is 32bit though, so uses 32bit decoders.

The first of the three links on that decoders page is what you should try https://github.com/Nevcairiel/LAVFilters/releases perhaps you missed it.

The Matt Hill blog links still work too but it is up to you to decide if you want to installl it. I'd ignore the ffdshow simply because LAV works so well.

I have installed the LAV decoders but I still can't get it to work. Any other suggestions ?
What should I have the video rendering on in the top drop down menu ?
VMR9 VMR7 etc. I've tried all of them and still no picture.

Did you map LAV to the audio and video decoder options in NextPVR.exe. You can also use Kodi as a client if you want.

I think so. I selected Settings-- Decoders and selected LAV in the drop down menus.

Did you set all audio and video with the 32 bit LAV? The logs indicated otherwise.
