Hi all. Been setting up NextPVR, testing for recording a specific show. A manual recording started during the show worked properly. However, when I try to do a recurring recording, it doesn't record, and it gives an error - "Recording service not running at recording time". Does this mean I need to keep the NextPVR client running all the time? I figured all it needed was the NextPVR service running, which it was.

If the service is running it will record. On Windows, if you power off and you don't have good power management it won't work or the server is not set to autostart it won't. This is why we ask for logs so we can see what is happening.

If you do an recurring recording for an in progress show it won't work in the past so it is only for future shows, it is possible that message is misleading.

The service is definitely running, I don't reboot often. I've tried a few more one-time recordings this morning, and they don't work either, but the error is different. The recording log shows "Request forbidden by administrative rules". I have no idea what this could mean. The attempted recording is from 10:50am to 11am, in the log. I tried to attach directly, but they don't show, so i have a google link to them below.

Normally we ask for all the logs that you get form the NextPVR web sites however this time it is clear, your IPTV provider is giving you that message

so either the m3u file you are using has the wrong credentials, you are using more streams than your provider allows, assuming this provider hasn't been shutdown.

Thanks for looking. Very odd. It's a paid provider, and live TV and movies work fine, I double check that particular channel each time I set up a recording, to make sure it's still up. The only thing I leave running is the NextPVR service, I don't even keep the client or web config portal open. This should be easy...in theory. I guess it's possible I require 2 full time connections from the provider...one for Live TV/Movies, and another for recording?
