Hello,

I'm having this asus My Cinema 7131 dual DVB-T card that comes with the awfull (Huge, slow, bugged and spywared) Cyberlink OEM software. In search of a good PVR software to work with the card and that was free, i found your GOOD GB-PVR!! Thanks for that!

I managed to make this card work for digital tv, but unfortenatedly i'm unable to use the FM radio functionality!! :confused:

Is there someone out there that has made this card up and running for the FM-radio? Or does someone knows how to modify the BDA.ini file to make it works with all his functionallity (FM, analoque TV, video capture)?

I know from several forums, that people with this good tv-card are looking to replace this dreadfull Cyberlink and will much appreciate if this card can (will) be fully supported by GB-PVR.

Thanks for your response (sorry for my english Wink )

Sorry, you'll only be able to use digital side of this card.

Does the device have a hardware MPEG2 decoder for the analog side?

Have you tried to record?

Yes the device has a hardware MPEG decoder for the analog side (according to the specs: "Advanced Phillips Video/Audio decoder with two-bit video analog-to-digital converter"

I made a registration of a Digital TNT broadcast, and it worked well.
Also the FM radioscans works well and able to listnen to them :-)
The analog TV broadcastings i just checked them with the Tuning assistant and it finds the analog channels with the preview. I haven't jet put the channels in the configuration tool (actually i have no idea how to set it up, but i think i need an XMLTV file fot channels i guess?!) If you like i keep you updated with new info about that.

Thanks for the nice program.

Sorry, I meant to ask if it had a hardware "encoder".

I suspect you wont be able to record analog TV with this device, because I assume it it doesnt have MPEG2 encoder hardware. This has certainly been the case with every other combo device I've seen. If you try it and it does work though, let me know and I'll add it to the master direct.ini file.

The Tuning Assistant doesnt require the MPEG2 encoder, but the just about everything in GB-PVR does.

I guess you must be right about that.

I set up the analog tv channels and i'm able to watch these, even record these but CAN'T play the recorded file! (Digital channels no problems)

For me it's not a big deal, because i'm only using the DVB-T & FM radio side of this card. So people like me that have this card and use only the DVB-T and FM radio aspects, are being served by this solution.

Maybe you'll find a little time one day to make your program fully compatible with this kind of hybrid cards (there are more an more on the market) and can add it to your supported cards list in the future.

Anyway thanks for your input in this matter and good luck with the programming ;-)

Hi lulugt6 ,

I have just bought a ASUS P7131 Dual card. I was wondering if you could let me know what capture device setting you used to getthe card to work for digial. I am a total newbie to all this so I would appreciate your help.

Thanks

Hello,
To set up this card for digital TV, analogue radio FM and analogue TV, ad the following sections in

in your BDA.INI file add:

[ASUS MyCinema 7131 Dual]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER=713x BDA DVBT Tuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=713x BDA Digital Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

in your CONFIG.INI file add:

[ASUS MyCinema 7131 Dual]
SUPPORTS_FM_RADIO=1
INIT_MODE=DEFAULT
INIT_MSP=0
FILTER_CROSSBAR=713x BDA Analog Xbar
FILTER_CAPTURE=713x BDA Analog Capture
FILTER_TV_TUNER=713x BDA Analog TV Tuner
FILTER_TV_AUDIO=713x BDA Analog TV Audio
PIN_CROSSBAR_VIDEO_TUNER_IN=Video Tuner In
PIN_CROSSBAR_AUDIO_TUNER_IN=Audio Tuner In
PIN_CROSSBAR_VIDEO_DECODER_OUT=Video Decoder Out
PIN_CROSSBAR_AUDIO_DECODER_OUT=Audio Decoder Out
PIN_TVTUNER_ANALOG_VIDEO_OUT=Analog Video
PIN_TVTUNER_ANALOG_AUDIO_OUT=Analog Audio
PIN_TVAUDIO_TV_AUDIO_IN=TVAudio In
PIN_TVAUDIO_TV_AUDIO_OUT=TVAudio Out
PIN_CAPTURE_ANALOG_VIDEO_IN=Analog Video In
PIN_CAPTURE_ANALOG_AUDIO_IN=Analog Audioinput
PIN_CAPTURE_CAPTURE_OUT=Capture
PIN_CAPTURE_PREVIEW_AUDIO_OUT=Audio
PIN_WRITER_INPUT_IN=Input

Set up in your GB-PVR config program two capture sources:
One digital (for the digital TV and choose the BDA recording plugin, press settings and choose your asus card now comming up in the list and set up your country. Choose the EPG source (i use the DVB EPG broadcast) and map your channels. If everything is well you can scan for your stations now.

For the analogue source: choose a name, choose the direct recording plugin, press settings and choose youre ASUS card, country, internal Tuner and antenna for the rest. Your FM and Analogue TV are ready. In the playback tab of the config application set the software MPEG-2 Playback video and audio decoders to Cyberlink in the lists.

Thats it. I have to mention that i was not able to watch back the analogue tv recordings with sound, but it must be able with the software encoder plugin (see the special section in this forum for this) For me i never use the analogue TV just the DVB-T and FM radio features of this card, and they work very well.

Good luck.

Hi mate,

I modofied those two files and then added the new digital device. Only trouble was that it showed this error and after I clicked continue on the error and performed a scan, no channels came up:

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
