I have tried to search for information on this subject, but have not found anything that specifically answers my question.

Is it possible to automatically move the recordings from one directory to another after a certain period of time (e.g. 8 hours after finishing the recording)?

I would not like to simply move them, because I would like them to continue to be visible in NextPVR.

I'm using Linux/Docker version on arm32v7 if it matters.

Not automatically but there is a archive option in UI clients like Nlite that let you move them to another configured folder. I did have problems with it the last time I tested it though and I haven't gone back to see where the issue might be.

I often use the archive feature to move recordings between storage drives that I have. I believe that it works fine.

To accomplish your objective, though, you'd need to build some sort of mechanism which would basically get kicked off in the PostProcessing script. You could save the filename to a queue file and then have a background process which would periodically read the queue file and see if there are files to be moved now. Or maybe you could use the OS scheduler and schedule a job for some time in the future to run a script and pass it the filename.

I just checked and it is still failing here, perhaps it is a linux issue. The selected destination does work for recordings.

Code:
2021-10-21 09:11:02.851    [DEBUG][49]    Source File: /home/martin/recordings/NFL Football/NFL Football_20211010_13001625-0.ts
2021-10-21 09:11:02.851    [ERROR][49]    Unable to find target destination directory:

I have checked this option in NLite and actually have the same problem as @mvallevand.

Code:
[19] Source File: /recordings/XYZ 11/Season 11/XYZ.11.S11E14.ts
[19] Unable to find target destination directory:
target destination exists of course.

I have created a simple bash script started from cron that copies recordings to another folder and creates a symbolic link. It may be cheap but it works.

Anyway, I thought that NextPVR should have something built in for such scenario.

I found the cause of the archive feature not working correctly, and have fixed for the next build.
