win 7 w/sp1 SSL/TLS error on download installation

hello alll,

I am trying to install V5 on a win7 machine. This has been one problem after another since win7 isnt supported anymore. my latest error is when the V5 installer tries to download the installation package, I get the error "the request was aborted: could not create SSL/TLS secure channel"

I have tried the google search fixes but I continue to get this error. Any Ideas??

Did you search about how to enable TLS 1.2 on Win 7. It is an ancient OS (3 version of Windows ago).

If that is too difficult you can try a manual install which isn't too hard. I can walk you thorugh this if you'd like. You didn't mention if you are running 32 or 64 bit.

Try manually installing it.

Download https://nextpvr.com/stable/win64/NPVR.zip, extract it to C:\Program Files\NextPVR, and run the "installservice.bat". After that it should be installed and running, and you can access the webapp at http://localhost:8866/index.html, and login with admin/password

I did actually find the 32 bit Zip version I need but I just couldn't really find a step by step manual install procedure. if I could get that I do have a rather robust install maker I could pass it through and would be happy to post it here

Subs method was un successful

ran the batch file and tried to access web UI and it would not. Tried running tray application and got errors also

There is an issue with the batch file if you search the forum I posted a potential fix for some uses.

It helps if you tell us what errors you get.

Don’t worry about the tray - you don’t need it.

What error message do you get if you manually run NextPVRServer.exe?

no errors, CMD window opens for about 1/2 second and closes.........cant read what its doing in that time but no errors
