I didn't know that. I will do it right now. Certainly a deserving recipient.

Thanks.

Still waiting back for an email from sub confirming my donation, and presumably providing the license key to be installed in config.xml. It's been several hours.

Is this expected via automation? Or in a day or two, manually sent by sub?

Not super-critical since I've just deleted and reinstalled the Roku App for another "trial period", should I want to experiment with it in the next week. But I'm just curious about the process.

On your PC, go to the Settings->About page, hold the Control key, and click the 'verbose logging' button that appears, then try the login again, and post the log.

It could be.  Did you enable developer options and allow USB debugging and did accept the prompt to allow your device when you attempted to connect?

Also note this is again confusing to have two parallel topic going, don't forget you are trying to connect with sub's app

So usually what would happen when someone sends a donation, is that Paypal will email me to let me know, and when I see the email I'll reply to say thank you.

A separate step for those that have donated, now or in the past, is that they are welcome to send me a PM asking for a donator code, and letting me know their email address for confirmation, and I'll create a code. ie, I don't send a donator code unless you explicitly ask for one. It's not automated, because these donator codes were only a very very recent thing, and majority of donators were in past years etc, so don't have one (and most people don't need one).

I've just checked my email and can see your donation email from Paypal. Since I know you want one, I'll include it with the reply. Thanks for the donation!

Indeed I just received your email with license code three minutes ago.  Many thanks, for a terrific product and also for terrific support.

First, I tried the direct browser connection to 192.168.126:8866 from my phone (192.168.1.18). Got the same "login failed". I believe that wrapped up at 08:31:24.

Then I decided it might be helpful if I launched the NextPVR app itself so that maybe you would have additional debugging output from its also failed connection (which is the original problem of this thread). I believe debug output from that conversation begins at 08:31:41.

I realize this second topic accidentally got started in this thread, which of course was specifically about my S21 not being able to connect to NextPVR. Secondarily the question got raised of perhaps it could maybe (or not) connect to NextPVR UI instead? And that's how this secondary subject got spawned, pertaining to uidroid instead of primary NextPVR, regarding connection success or failure from my S21.

Anyway my S21 definitely has developer options enabled. But I never even got any message popup or prompt from ADBLINK2, as I did get on the Shield. But then I actually didn't previously have Developer Options enabled on the Shield, which is not the case on my S21.

I made sure to have the phone desktop open and unlocked when I attempted to make contact with 192.168.1.18 using ADBLINK2. But nothing at all appeared on the S21 screen. And back at ADBLINK2 after a few seconds it just threw: "Can't connect to 192.168.1.18"

From that, it just looks like you're using the wrong username/password. Maybe check if you phone is doing something with auto capitalizing or something.

And under developer options you have also have USB debugging turned on, this is needed even for TCP connections.

Honestly, I probably wouldn't bother using a UI client on a phone. You'll be able to get it to run, but this mode wasn't really intended to be driven by touch etc, so it'll be an exercise in frustration.
