Any way to revert to old menu format?

I like the new menu as the "What's New" menu I use by far the most is now at the top level. What I would like is a way to return "Recordings" back to a list! However I may make do with returning the View to the original for now!

I forgot to mention about the improved TV Guide which now deals much better with short events with long titles!

I didn't like change the new Recordings screen at all at first until I started using it with the remote I like getting 12 items per page with the option of 6 with the up and down arrows so I can actually navigate faster then before. Percentage jumps and letter jumps still work.

There are some weaknesses that I can think of, (not as bad as the first icon view order 10+ years ago, one of my own favourite forum posts on it was was here https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid398894) especially the lack of snaking with the left and right keys and the missing full title display but sub can no doubt tweak this.

I understand the original point of wanting a full revert for people that like twiddling the remote and fewer menu options but I think it would really help sub improve this view if you all explain what you don't like about the usability. I don't think its a render speed issue, I run this on an RPi and it seems just as fast. I guess the first time you use it there might be a delay since it will fetch art on recordings that you haven't looked at for years.

Sub has done a lot of work getting art for the web client, Kodi, Emby, Apple and Android and apps and I think it is great that this is no offered to all the platforms

I think it's that it's simply "different" and I am completely used to reading up and down, now, just for the recordings screen, I have to read across.  I also miss the fact that the list tells me how many episodes of each title I have and this is missing in the new display; a little thing but (for me at least) annoying.

Different is probably the key issue. I think reading 2D newspaper is easier and faster then reading then a papyrus scroll but that is what took me the most time to get used to.

In the next release, I'll likely tweak it slightly, so that you can toggle the view mode on the Recordings screen, to switch between artwork and list view (still with the separate 'What's New' 'Recordings' and 'Scheduler' items on the main menu). I'll have it remember it, so you can use whatever suits you.

I also prefer the classic style with recordings presented as a list. I find TV show artwork distracting and have always turned it off. Similar to Ricknextpvr, I find the straight forward menu systems in NextPVR are a big attraction compared to the alternatives.
